So the last couple of nights we've had an orange moon. Spooky and beautiful

I never saw these growing up on the east coast, but man, I've seen some ridiculously gorgeous orange moons since I've moved to San Francisco, simply stunning.

I remember about 10 years ago my mom, brother and myself took a vacation to California. While we were driving on the interstate at night I was just stunned by this HUUUGE orange moon. I had NEVER seen anything like that before. We get some nice moons here in Utah, but never that beautiful.

have to say tho, i too agree.....can't recall ever seeing an orange moon here on the east coast...tho i do recall the past few evenings the moon being big and beautiful none the less...
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
I'm a little further north, in Victoria, BC. There are quite a few forest fires burning in BC right now, so there's lot of smoke in the atmosphere. Sad that it's burning :( (especially so early in the season :? ) but it makes for gorgeous sunsets and a stunning orange moon.
ahhh, but on the west coast ...
we usually get them in the summer with a combo of brush fire and fog ... I've tried to take pics, but, they don't come out so well as I'm in the city, and, I have a crappy little digital camera.
Thanks for sharing.

I remember driving with my friend from Edmonton, AB to the US border one time, and there was this massive orange glow on the eastern horizon. At first we thought it was a huge fire burning on the prairies; however, it turned out to be this huge harvest moon rising. It was breathtaking.
Your welcome. I would love to take credit for the pic, but it's not mine :( I got it from a local website  My crappy little digital would just produce a blurry blob of orange on black. I'd use my Minolta, but I have no idea how to change the shutter speed (all the instructions are in Japanese :? )
