wow....that is the *ideal*...!
i have a few friends, married, both teachers, and it's awesome for them, but none in the same district.
me, taught 10 years but outside of one summer, i always had a part-time job during the summers to make ends meet as i worked in private schools....so never *quite* had the full advantage of a teaching schedule, but it still was nice to have extra time off. hubby is not a teacher, and it was always difficult for him to get time off in the summer....so yes, it wasn't at all as *greaT* as it could've been.
i am thinking seriously about returning to teaching, tho timing is not great.....seems every field, including teaching, is not immune to all the dire employment issues.
anyhoo.....NICE for you!
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
i'm not "poor" tho'.
My university makes us take our salary over twelve months instead of 9
our contracts are for 9 months tho' so we are "officially" free to take other paid work during the summer if we choose to whereas we are not allowed to hold other paid positions during the school year.
I like it that way, it's like i'm being paid to be on vacation for 3 1/2 months
i definitely hear you about the time thing.
there's nothing better than realizing it about a week after finals when I switch the page in my day planner and find it EMPTY.
aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Get it now, get enough, before its gone, let's everybody carry on, carry on....
