Pearl Harbor is a must...several companies offer rain forest and waterfall hikes....might want to consider that.

I'm gonna do Pearl Harbor on a weekday and Waikiki on a weekend. Hopefully I can nail Diamond Head and Dukes on the same day.

I'm staying over in Lanikai away from the hustle and bustle a bit.

You probably need to go to the park's website to determine that....I remember that we had to be in line at 7:00 a.m. to get in.....watch the film, take the boat out....stay maybe 15 minutes at the memorial and return. It was probably a good chunk of a morning when all was said and done.

a few years ago, you couldn't jump, but you could swim at the falls in Waimea. not sure if it's still that way...

Ha, that's pretty much what I did, with the obligatory Luau. Most of our Hawaii vacation was in Kauai. God I miss it. Unbelievable island paradise that one.

Drive up to the North Shore town of Haleiwa and look for the shrimp trucks. Cant remember the name of the most famous... but there are a few up there that cook a variety of fresh shrimp plates that are awesome. Volcano and coconut come to mind.

Stop in at any convenient store or gas station and head on over to the hotdog rack and dive into a fresh slice of Spam on rice with lots of green grass on top too. Doesnt really compare to a good brawt but what the hell.

Head down to Dakine Bail bonds and see if you can hang with Dog too. Maybe see if you can ride with Leeland and take part in citizen justice, bra.

hit up duke's on a sunday. i guess jimmy buffet actually shows up now and then.

of all of the hawaiian islands, oahu was probably the worst, but it's still better than most places on this earth. definitely head to the north shore. get away from honolulu/waikiki, which is basically a mini vegas with all of the tourists and none of the slot machines and free drinks. diamondhead is a must, even though it's touristy.

i saw it, but couldn't figure out how to get to it, but do the stairway to heaven if you can.

i have been to oahu 3 times. my favorites....
    snorkelling at Hanauma Bay
Sunset Beach on the North Shore
    Hawaiian Shave Ice in Haleiwa
Dole Pineapple Plantation (the maze is fun)
late night meals at Zippy's -hawaii's version of Denny's

Pearl Harbor is definitely a must see. The tours are timed, so the earlier you get there, the quicker you will get your turn to go out.

The other thing i would advise....spend as little time in Waikiki as possible...it is the LEAST hawaiian place on the island. the beach there is crowded and boring. Traffic is terrible. Parking is worse. It is exactly like every other city's downtown tourist area.

For souvenirs, the best deals are at the ABC stores... you can find them anywhere. No, they are not liquor stores, their name is ABC.

Waiting to go is horrible....I know...we leave for Maui in 28 days. But even worse is sitting in the airport waiting to board plane to come home....

    have a blast!

depends what your into, drive around the whole island in one day if you want, north shore very much chill, south very much tourist, but waikiki is waikiki, must see if you are there, i LUV that place more than any ever
50+ shows and lost count somewhere along the way
