    I'm guessing conservative democrat.

He's Catholic and donated money to Christopher Dodd's campaign.

while that makes sense, I just cant see him leaning right. It may be his true stance, but he just seems so not right wing if you know what I mean. I cant picture him lining up with the Liberman's of the world.

I think he's probably "right" thinking when it comes to abortion, death penalty, i.e things that Catholics feel the most strongly against. Everything else is probably towards the "left"

I have a Catholic girlfriend and that's kind of how many of the younger Catholics think.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing.. would it make him any more/less funny..

He was raised Catholic but I'm not sure he's a practicing Catholic. I remember him saying that whenever he goes home he has to act like a good Catholic around his mom or something.

Either way, I'm pretty sure he's left of center.

Afterall, he's a very smart highly educated person (Harvard). ;)

During his years as a barbarian...and a sword for hire, Conan paid little heed to politics. Later in life, he claimed the crown of Aqulonia....so, I guess he became a monarchist.

That's interesting. And I mean absolutely no offense to you or your girlfriend.
But being raised Catholic myself, most of the young people I know who are/were Catholic, stopped observing a lot of the Catholic rules and believing in the church's political stances once they reached the age of reason.
Again, not knocking your girl. I'm so envious of people who have that religious faith. It's just interesting to me.

Agreed. He's an entertainer! I have friends from all sides of the spectrum, same goes for entertainers.

That's what I'm saying, or was trying to say. :)

The abortion issue is the main issue. I don't know many former or current Catholics who agree with it. It's not
like she goes to church 5 days a week :).

I glad you can see where I'm coming from. Religion is one of those things you have to be real careful with with some people. And a message board isn't always the best format to try to convey things sometimes.

Yep, just like Jon Stewart. Though he is clearly left of center on many a issue.

conan definitely seems to be left leaning... i mean, hes in hollywood now right? is there any option?

definitely... unlike the rest of the media he does his best to be somewhat objective or atleast criticize both sides equally... but its obvious where he stands

it still cracks me up when people think colbert is seriously totally right wing... cant believe he shaved his head
