Backspacer....the turtle....album too?

Is Backspacer really the name of their new album, or are they just messing around with us?

    Not that it really matters, but I really don't like the name Backspacer for the album. The name could be Turdburgers and I am sure the music will be great, but Backspacer? All I can picture is that cartoon turtle mascot for the turtle they sponsored. It doesn't seem very rock and roll.

    they obviously named the turtle after the name of their forthcoming album....

    kinda shows a subtle sense of humour and tease around the name

    and lol who cares what the albums called ?!

    i mean backspacers a better name than Ten lol!!

    Any name is better than self titling it. For whatever reason, I've always hated when bands put out self titled albums or albums with the same name as one of the songs.

    To me, the album title should be the name of the collection of songs. Not just naming it a song/band name.

    I do really like when an album title is a line from a song though. Like Ben Harpers "White lies for dark times" is a line from the song "Shimmer and shine". I like that

    "One two three four five against one, fffffffive five five against one...Sayin one two three four five against one..." (Animal) (Vs. was once called Five Against One...and the cover did have an animal's face stuck through a fence)

    I wonder then if 'Backspacer' is in a line in one of the songs or even the name of a song from the album?

    People got a lot of time on their hands... who really cares. You know if they called it "Ed reads the phonebook" and it was actually Eddie reading a phone book we would all buy it anyway. What about the avocado?
