I just bought this game and installed it. I am about to journey into a new world and won't be going to bed until 4-5am!

I am a simaholic.... I am gonna get back into it and will need an intervention if anyone wants to see me outside of my room. I was watching gameplay videos on youtube and my hand began to shake

Anyone else into the SIms? or thinking/already bought the Sims 3 and playing it? I will post how it is, tomorrow!

  • I spent the majority of last night creating a Sim so havent gotten into whether the gameplay is amazing or not.

The create a sim is ridiculous, you can pattern every article of clothing and make it whatever color.

I'm thinking about getting this game. I haven't played a PC Sims game since the original, but this one seems pretty good.

I'm a major sims fan too, but i have to say i'm really disappointed with this. It confuses the hell outta me and building houses is not quite as fun as the sims 2... :(

I REALLY want this game. Unfortunately my little mac mini cant handle the game at all. So forget about it for me.

I actually bought Sims 3 for my ipod touch and I have to say it is awesome, but after watching the gameplay vids for the pc version its clearly NOTHING in comparison.

I'm thinking about getting Sims 2 for my mac, how is that game compared to the original Sims? I used to have the first Sims when it came out years ago and loved it.

I played the original Sims back in the day, and got all the expansion packs and stuff. Didn't care for the Playstation version too much.

You just may have launched me back into a gaming phase.. :)

me and my friend played the original sims back in middle school all the time... i think we lost interest after we found out how to make everyone naked all the time... i figured that had to be the best the game had to offer

this new sims looks a little more like second life or something, no? ive only seen the commercials... theres no way im gonna buy it because every computer i own is shit and i get way too addicted to this stuff... i promised myself i would only keep up with new zelda games as theyre released from now on :)

I agree. The gameplay is a little confusing. The way to look around pisses me off, like you have to use W-A-S-D to move the camera around. I havent tried building yet but everything seems a little too complex. Im sure I'll get used to it though! I hope :/

That's exactly what I think. I've had the game since friday and I've only played it once! As a whole It's not as user friendly as previous games, there are clever things like how you can change the look of every item and making people is pretty impressive, but I still think it's hard to use :(
  • I loved Sims 2 but I had the same fears about 3 that you guys are saying... it sounds a lot more complicated. Are you still only controlling a couple of Sims at a time, or do you have to direct everyone in the neighborhood at once? I read that Sims now have to spend a lot of time outside of the house...

I bought this on Sunday and I am hooked!

Complicated?? Really? I found everything to be fairly simple. After about 20 minutes, I was already used to the controls, and the extra features of the game are easy perform and understand.

You control individual Sims, or a family if you want..not sure though, I only created myself. But yes, you do have to go into town frequently, but it's worth it...I never played 2 so I don't know if these features were included but you can go to the grocery store and pick up groceries, the bookstore for some reading material. You can attend community classes in order to improve your skills.

I've really enjoyed it, and I haven't found it to be complicated at all :)

You could but it took about 10 damn minutes to load the store up, so I don't think a lot of people spent much time going back and forth.
