What are some essential headphones albums? There are some albums that seem to come alive only when you are listening on headphones, what are they?

Type O Negative / October Rust....this album is fucking spectacular already, but on headphones...it's incredible.

Also, anything by Mogwai sounds great through some nice, big headphones (e.g. skullcandy's, which is what I use :) )

Steely Dan... Aja....as with anything though the source matters just as much so make sure its not a 128 mp3 or even an mp3 at all. SACD, DVD Audio, or a clean vinyl will be mind blowing. Quality is worth it.

"Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush.....the second side of the record is mind-blowing when it is delivered via headphones.

Beethoven :D Listen to all the symphonies in order and by the time you hit the ninth, you will find that there were bits and pieces of it throughout all the previous symphonies. It's also great to listen to if you have to study or really concentrate on a given task :D
