Yeah they should hole up like the Beatles and never tour. Then they can pump out an album every year.

I'm assuming you're from the South? Cause I'm from Atlantic Canada,... and I LOVED the tour. I saw Pearl Jam three times! Hartford, Mansfield x2. hehehehe

I didn't see any shows in '08, but the three shows on the Canadien tour in '05 (i think) with no new album that I went to were 3 of my favorite shows ever. It's nice having setlists with no "required" songs.

June 24th-June 30th might have been the best week of my life. Seeing Pearl Jam twice in Madison Square Garden (my first time there) and twice in Mansfield were absolutely the best concerts I've ever been to. I would never call that tour a waste. I don't mind that I had to wait til September 09 for the new album, that week of shows was incredible.

I wish I made the Mansfield shows.. but both MSG's rocked. Did you enjoy the Garden? My favorite place.

    Hahahaha

'08 tour was far from a waste. Columbia was amazing. That was the closest thing to a religious experience I've ever had.

I did. Those 2 shows were incredible. I was actually in the first row behind the stage on Mike and Jeff's side for Night 2. It was insane. 20 feet from the band. I stayed with a friend in Queens and it was just a great 3 days in NYC. Mansfield, back home in Boston, was great too. I would love to replicate that whole week every time Pearl Jam went on tour.

Hmm, let me think about this...

    flying over from London...
spending a week in New York City with my fiancee...
seeing two awesome shows by my favourite band at the MSG...
watching Matt completely own Who You Are...

yeah, what the fuck was I thinking? I really wasted a whole week of my life! Fuck you Pearl Jam, you owe me big time!

You really need to get a grip on that whole brain/mouth thing my friend

They were going to tour the west coast last year too but canceled it to work on the album so we can get it this fall with a major world tour to follow. I got no problem with any of that.
