1 time, and it was a big mistake.

Ended up hurting my vibe at the show. So I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    Yup definitely lied! LOL

for Groundwork on 2001 I had just started a new job, probably like a month before, told my boss my niece was getting baptized and I was the God Mother and that I need to leave to Seattle, he gave me the day off.

Then for 2002 Seattle shows, I told my boss that I had strep throat and couldn’t go to work for a week, :) got paid with sick time and went to the Showbox show and both Key Arenas – lol

For MSG 2003 I had actually broken my foot a week before, I was just going to call out sick the couple of days that I was going to NYC but then since I broke my foot I told my boss I couldn’t drive (even though my husband took me to work every morning) and went to NY.

Last week at a job interview, I made sure to be clear that I had a wedding in a few weeks so I already got the two days off drive 12 hrs to go see EV in the south.

At my last job I told my boss I was going to a bachelor party in Vegas. Which wasn't a total lie as I was there for 3 days. However I didn't tell him that the other 7 days off were to see Pearl Jam 5 times. Mostly since I didn't have ANY vacation days.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I haven't lied to see PJ, but I would if I had to. I did lie to attend the first Bonnaroo in '02. I was in my last year of high school and had a final that I got rescheduled bc of a "wedding". My mom even called in to back me up!

Hell yes. I was a freshman at the UofMich in 1994. No money, of course. Told my parents I still needed another book for one of my classes. Didn't think they would be willing to give me money for concert tickets, but I did come clean many years later.

When I was 17, Pearl Jam was going on their Yield tour. My parents told me I couldn't go see them at the venue in my area (Noblesville, IN), because they were scared of me getting stoned and getting trampled on by crowds or something like that... I ended up telling them I was going to spend the night at my friends' place, but my friend and I had gone on ebay and bought tickets from some dude a town away... so we slipped out that evening, went to the show (which happened to be my FIRST PJ show), came back, crashed at his place... I told my parents about it a while later ;)
Totally worth the lie, AMAZING show of course!!! :D

The weird thing is that Ed visited my work the evening I went to their show... so the joke was on me. True story.

Sure have. 2 in a row.

I was getting ready for work & the radio station was giving away 2 tics PJ at the Breslin Center 8-18-08. They were asking for the best PJ story to be the winner. So I called and told them how The Alpine Valley show a couple months earlier was my 1st show & I missed half it do to traffic jams in Chicago & car trouble. I said when I arrived I was so far back in the grass section that I could'nt even tell it was PJ (all lies). I won the tickets. The tickets had to be picked up by noon & the show was that same night, so I had to call work & lie about a family emergency.

Didn't lie, per se, but was told by employer that we couldnt' attend any Vote For Change concerts because of a conflict of interest (I'm a reporter). Well, I wanted to go to see Pearl Jam and Death Cab. I didn't care about any of the political stuff. So I went. Turns out the price I paid for the two VFC shows showed up on political contribution lists for Democrats on the Internet, not that I care. I'd like to see them try to fire me over it.

And my wife is the best. She's never said no to any Pearl Jam show I wanted to attend, so no need to lie for me. She understands. She's equally fanatical about U2. If only Bono and company would charge less for their shows. Now THAT'S a sellout of a band.

Well, sorta. I told my boss that I'm going to MD for my cousin's wedding, which I actually am. But I left out the part where I'm staying a couple of extra days to hang out in Baltimore and DC and to catch Ed's show on the 15th.

Oh...I see what you mean...I was just out of college and it was just my summer job at the time. They knew I'd be moving on, so the interview thing was no surprise.
