Don't know how all you feel about this flick, but it's one of my personal favs. NEVER gets old, but then again...I usually space out my viewings. It's easily one of the best comedies of the 90's in my book. Great quotable lines in this movie...and Shooter has got to be one of the funniest characters, along side Ben Stiller's
.
Shooter: "Jeez, ya know I could really go for a Pepsi"
Virginia: "Sure..I'l.."
Shooter: "Oh, and miss?.....diet."

Great movie but it doesn't quite measure up to Billy Madison.0

I think of 70's and some early-mid 80's movies loosely as "classic". Calling Happy Gilmore classic is calling No Code classic. ...or are we really getting old, and "classic" is an apt term?ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

but it's subjective enough to apply to something you personally think will become a classic, as in all-time-great...whatever
Happy Gilmore is a great show, but I don't think I've seen it since I tired of Sandlers schtick a bit...I wonder how it'd hold up?0 -
i am not much of an Adam sandler fan but i like this one2003 - Sydney x3,2006 - Reading Festival,2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,2010 - I watched it go to fire!2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

As a golfer I really enjoy this movie.
I love the part with Kevin Nealon and when Happy nails Chubb's hand off and it gets run over by the truck.
"Oh don't worry about that, made of wood...real sturdy!"0 -

Love it! Kevin Nealon's role is good for some laughs as well, but I just love that guy as an actor, he always cracks me up. He's great on Weeds.7/2/06 - Denver, CO

So Chubbs, why didn't you play any other sports like football?
My mom wouldn't sign the permission slip.

Nobody has mentioned the first 5 minutes? I love this movie. If you have a chance to make life better for others, and fail to do so, you are wasting your time on this earth.

Everytime I catch this movie, it's always past the first 5 minutes...so I don't remember is it the hockey tryouts, or the girl-friend/Subway scene?
