Letterman is awesome.

I just watched the interview he did with Joaquin Phoenix on the Late Show a few months back, and the guy is a genius. He knows it's uncomfortable and he listens to the audience and just runs with the awkwardness so it comes off as super entertaining instead of embarassing.

On a side note, what the hell has Hollywood done to Phoenix's mindset? It's almost like he's been given a lobotomy.

    This is all a schtick that Letterman was in on. Joaquin is doing this act that was/is being filmed by Casey Affleck for some type of Borat wannabe documentary as he went around making public appearances and acting this way.

    But Letterman is still great. Not taking anything away from him.

    I'll take Letterman over Conan any time. And easily over Leno (am I nuts? Who watches Leno?). Craig Ferguson is pretty cool too.

    not sure if it's on your clip, but if you watch the commercial outro Pheonix stands up takes of his glasses and leans into dave's ear and says "good job" during their handshake.
