It rocks. It means a lot to me. I feel that for 18 years Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder have been musicians to reach out to me. I don't know how I'd get through hard times, happy times, and anything else in between- without PJ and crew. My daughter even choreographed her own ballet dance to it this morning. I thought "wow, that's pretty impressive that my daughter connects with Eddie's music- enough for her to do this dance on her own that came from her heart".

It is a very well written song even though it wasn't written by Eddie. The entire album is very well written & quickly became one of my favorites. I would have to say that the song rise is my favorite though. With society & guaranteed running a very close second. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I highly recomend seeing it. Each song is pieced so very well with the movie !!
I have faced it,... A life wasted,...
    I'm never going back again.
  • Thanks for the feedback!
  • hi everybody, i'm brand new of the club and plus i write from italy (in english!!!) so apologise in advance for not being fluent.
anyway the reason why i start from here is that i have a daughter aged 6 who loves society! she tries very hard to sing it and i try very hard to help her and i'm happy to see she's so attracted by good music. we also speak about the lyrics and she saw part of into the wild and loved it. i'm amazed and proud.
i'm not sure this is the right place for me. i didn't know anything about pj or eddie before into the wild, but the more i discover about them the more i love them.

I think that's an awesome, rockin' way to get started in the PJ/Eddie world. I've listened to PJ for YEARS and I was soo thrilled when Into the Wild came out since it consisted of Eddie's soundtrack. I feel it's important to teach my 4 yr old daughter about rock n roll as well- I try to teach her about different names of rockbands, lead singers, guitarists- I want her to see there are a lot of things to learn about in the world. It's nice to meet someone from Italy as well- music really is a universal language, and Eddie and the rest of the crew touch so many lives around the world. It's wonderful to hear how young children appreciate music in such a creative way:-) (I recently purchased Immagine in Cornice dvd which is a great dvd- and there is such beautiful scenery of Italy- as well as hearing some of the language- I love that dvd!

  • dear all, thank you so much for your warm welcome. i love it!
the strange thing is: i'm 43, old enough for having heard about pj before, but i didn't probably catch the chance. recently i saw into the wild and i was really captured i don't know how to say it...it absorbed me completely. the story, the film direction (i find sean penn is a genius), and of course the soundtrack. so a friend of mine lent me her copy of ten...wow! you know when you meet a human being with whom you share points of view, feelings, emotions just...naturally as you breathe (that's not so common for me actually). well that's what i felt. without understanding a word of what they sang without knowing so much about seattle and the wonderful nineties, only music and me. and that brought me to look for more info, and i found this wonderful place. i love reading your posts (i must confess i don't understand all, helas!) even if i can't keep on with you pj veterans but i like it.
i also saw pictures in frame...wonderful. and it makes me wonder....
