  • After-Party Update:

To ALL who were considering going to any kind of after party. the location is now up for grabs (Red Square is a no go).

    I'm suggesting:
    Lark Tavern
    Lionheart
    Bayou
    Jillians

Let the voting begin. I'm not partial to any of them. Oxxy's put his vote in for Lark Tavern.

Consensus will win, and I'll post here. Time will be "after the show". All other organization, implied or otherwise, is unintended.

    thank you, drive thru.
  • Hey people who are from Albany, how far away is Jillian's from the Palace? I'm just wondering if I could leave my car there and walk to the Palace. or if I should relocate to a parking garage or something.

Yeah, it should be a 5 minute walk. However, parking may be a bitch, as there is no parking for either Jillian's or the Palace. Either parking on the street or a garage...OFED - where's the garages or parking lots in the area?

how is the cab situation up there? my hotel is about 3 miles away from the theater, and i'd rather leave my car there and cab it to and from.

i'm staying at the Hampton Inn..2 minute walk to venue and pre-party (it's in the middle) and there is a parking garage next to the hotel...$10 for the night.

Uhhh.... I dunno? LOL. There's a parking lot about 100 yards away from Jillians. I've updated my EV map.

That parking lot is a mad house on the weekends... I do not have any idea what it's going to be like on a Mon/Tues, but the EV show could pack that one as i think it's closest to the palace as well. It is (of course) pay parking, and it's not cheap (again, on the weekend it's $10 after some time... i never get there before 11 so I guess i don't really know).

I guess the "best" parking is the Quackenbush garage. Corner of Broadway and Orange st. pretty damn close, IMO. Rates for entry after 4 PM: $3.00 first hour or part, $ 2.00 second hour or part - $5.00 Max, $16.00 24-hour maximum

Columbia St. Garage. It's on the map, marked as... if you can't find it, i can't help you. It is located on Columbia Street between Broadway and Water Street. rates are: Entry after 4PM, $3.00 first hour or part, $2.00 second hour or part - $5.00 max, $16.00 24-hour maximum.

Also, down by red square and near the HI Express, there's tons of parking (listed as Parking 2 on the map). It's times union center parking and there's no event there either night. I'm 100% sure there will be parking there, but it's not so close (but if you were willing to walk from the HI Express, then it's technically closer than that!). some of it (like the garage and some of the lots) is pay, some of the street parking down there (on hudson) is free after 6pm i believe.

You shouldn't have any problem getting a Taxi on a week night. I generally use Capitaland, and will most likely be using them to get down to the shows so my girl and I won't have to worry about driving after a few drinks. They're number is 518-785-9990. Usually a 15-20min wait, maybe a little less.
