"New Song" Vs. "World Wide Suicide"

Well, after watching the video from last night about 20 times (just to get it all) I have to say, that going up against their last album's first single, WWS, I like this one better without any doubt.

And the sick thing is, I haven't even heard the studio version! Wow, what a fun fucking song. Peace.

WWS didn't really get my attention when I first heard it. "Got/Get Some" grabbed my attention. I personally think it's a much better song.

WWS was the most excited I'd been about a new PJ single since Given to Fly. A funky little rhythm, groovy guitars, and a cool chorus. The new song... 2.5 minutes of boring riff with no discernible difference between the chorus and verse... it's as bad as Ramones song, only without the redemption of being as catchy as theirs.

No contest. WWS kicks this song's ass.

The song didn't stick with me at first - didn't help that Ed's voice sounded flooded out.... though after a few listens, I'm really digging it...

I think WWS was a overall better song, but there is just something about "new" Pearl Jam that makes me want to say the new song.

WWS so far. Heard the new song twice and I like it better on the second listen however it took me hearing WWS live to really like the song so I guess PJ will just have to play ithe new song in the Northeast in the very near future

I think the new song sounds like a cross between WWS, SAD and Save You. And I love it. Somebody posted a link last night, which got deleted, to a flac and a mp3 where the mp3 had a clean sound mix unlike the muddied TV version, and I think I listened to it about 20 times today. I like it better than WWS. I thought they butchered WWS live, and this new one sounds great live so I can only imagine how good the studio version is going to sound.

However, I have too mention this... That low part before the final burst/chorus at the end is straight from "Tall Cool One" from Robert Plant's Now and Zen album. As Ed is sort of humming and going "ahhhhh" in an escalating fashion as the bass line and the intensity is escalating, I'm almost waiting to hear him scream "Lighten up, baby, I'm in love with you....."
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

yep for sure and the lyrics are much more uplifting and hopeful than WWS which people might grab onto.

Definitely "Got Some." After watching last night I was somewhat disappointed in their performance and the new song. However, after listening to it about ten more times today I'm completely digging it! I think the band actually played very tight (Matt's drums were awesome)...though Ed's voice was drowned out and maybe a little tired.

WWS never struck a chord with me, when it came out as a single or live...I definitely 'got some' good feeling about the new album now!

WWS better for me, although I really like this new one.

I remember when I first heard WWS, that bridge section brought a huge smile to my face. That was the first time I was excited about new PJ in a long time. I was so disappointed in the previous album.

This one though, it took a few listens. Now that we have the lyrics mostly deciphered I like it even better. Sounds like a mash-up of the best punk rockers on Binaural (Grievance, God's Dice, Insignificance).

Got Some... hands down... for me, there is more to get excited about in this song.

I kinda always thought there was something missing in WWS or incomplete... I liked a lot of the pieces and the intensity, but I always felt like it could've have somehow been better... maybe by pacing the vocals in a different way or something... always seemed like Ed was trying to cram too many words into too little space. I like the song... I've tried really hard to love it... but "got some" grabbed me quicker. I like the sound better I can easily say.

this has a punky, poppy sound to it, that still sounds unlike anything that they've done before....and this grabbed me more than WWS did. I like this one better. I'm in the minority I guess when I say that their last album wasn't as good as Riot Act..........
