Release Backspacer Now...

Well that is if it finished anyway & with Got Some premiered last night so who is to say the Backspacer can't be released now if finished & without any need for promotion. Lets face it the only people who PJ albums today is the hardcore fans who can't get enough. Stone did say a few weeks ago it would be around September but it would be great to get it now. Only PJ could do something like that. They don't have a record company to think about, just put it out. Music needs someone to do this & this is the band who would do this. Who agrees or disagrees?

    There seems to be quite a few people out there that have heard the whole album. Even though they seem to be industry insiders it's only a matter of time before it gets leaked.

    I'm guessin the album will leak sooner than anyone should expect and the single will be sooner.

    I don't think Got Some is going to be the first single, especially if the album release is so far away.. I think this will be like when they played Grievance on Letterman.

    It seems to me if the were recording Somethings Going On for the commercial, that would be the most likely candidate.. Its also much catchier and easier to digest.

    So what is actually the hold up? Is this seriously just packaging? If so, just release the album digitally and send us our hard copies later. This is silly.

    The artwork is not done yet as evidenced by the blog from the artist working on it. I would imagine Got Some will be a single of some sort since they had artwork and some kind of sleeve for it whether it was a vinyl or not. I am hoping they are doing something really interesting with the artwork so I am not in as much of a hurry as others but September seems a bit long between performance and album.

    I'm of the same impression, I had no idea nor have I heard that the album is officially done. I was assuming some of the insiders may have heard rough mixes and not even the entire mastered album. I'm not counting on a leak any time soon. However, I do remember Avacado leaking rather early. Wasn't it about a month or more before it was officially released?? My memory is hazy all a sudden with all the Got Some excitement...

    Yea, I believe the leak was out about a month before the release.

    I think read somewhere on this board that the first single was to be released in July. Album on 9/22/09 I think?

    Anyways, I have waited this long for a new album I think I can wait a couple of more months until it is released.

    They played Grievance on Letterman about three weeks before Binaural came out, and I remember NAIS being the first official single.

    Maybe it's not quite finished? Maybe it still needs some work on it, some tweaking, etc...... Don't think they would delay the release of an album for the sake of it, especially if it is in September, after the first gigs....

    But hey.. maybe because the 'Target' threads seem to be dying down, one needs something else to criticise or just find another conspiracy theory.....
