Throw in some World Wide Suicide for the thematic portion of the song.

Pearl Jam has what, 140+ songs?

This one sounded pretty new to me. Its hard to compare.

Its a prog rock punkish version of insignificance.

I was thinking it also has a little Get Right in there...
  • Just a carry on of how they have sounded for years. Who knows when they wrote the song either.

This has gotta be the Kings of Leon type song that Matt wrote.

I think the beginning guitar part sounds a bit like Green Disease... but for some reason and I can't quite pinpoint it... it reminds me of a cross between Habit and Insignificance... but with a very new and fresh sound.

I absolutely love it... I like it better than anything on the last album.

Not at any point does this song sound like KOL to me.

I think you tighten it up and put the sheen of production over it, it has shades of several KoL songs, as much as I can imagine PJ sounding like them at least. The verse is totally KoL.
  • The beginning makes me feel like Im listening to the little solo in Comatose.

i'm not hearing any KOL in this song either. i think the RS article may have been talking about the fixer. it mentioned a melody that "wouldn't be out of place on a KOL record" and a "stones-ey" intro riff. the fixer comes closer to fitting that bill than got some does.

also, with the 3/4 (or 6/8) time sig in the fixer, i would tend to think matt had something to do with that.

we'll all find out for sure over the next couple of months..
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

I thought the Fixer sounded more in line with somethin like Comatose.

I think the bass driven-ness and Mike's echo guitar make it sound KoL-ish.

Also, 6/8 isn't really an odd time sig, outside of 4/4 it's the most common in popular music. PJ wrote tunes in 6/8 before Matt and without him.

The Fixer was written by Jeff, so thats out of the question.

I dont think weve heard enough songs to decide which song is which now. But I do think Get Some is the KOL song that RS mentioned.

There's going to be what...10ish more songs on the album? Any one of them could be the 'not out of place on a KOL album' song.
