Freelance Designers?

I am a freelance web designer. I have primarily used craigslist to advertise. It seems to not be working as much as it used to. Anyone here a freelance web or graphic designer? Other than word of mouth... where else do you advertise? I am a little stuck on ideas....

I felt a little weird posting this on the PJ forums page... But we talk about everything else in this community... I figured it would be okay to ask job advice too.

    maybe not the best advice but I've seen a couple of books about how to be a freelance designer and how to survive, just check amazon, and just browse the subject and I'm pretty sure there'slot of serious designers with tips for people in your condition.

    I've always just asked the people who's site I finished if they know anyone else who may need/want one.

    Right now I'm focusing on affordable websites for small/local businesses to get better exposure to their respective market. Been getting a fair amount of business just asking people.
