Jeff on Conan Playing with a Pick!!!

The main reason Jeff really stood out on Conan O Brien, was more to do with him reverting back to playing his bass with a pick, like he used to in the earlier days.
Back in the old PJ days he was forced to play with a pick, mainly because he used those Hamer 8 string and twelve string basses. The result with playing bass with a pick rather than finger style is a much edgier tone that really cuts through.
I myself play Rickenbacker basses and nearly always use a pick (unless the song requires a different tone) due to the fact that I love the tone a bass produces with a pick (especially Precision or Jazz basses as Jeff uses and Rickenbackers, these sound amazing played with picks).
Riot act, no code, Advocado, have got finger style playing all over em, and unfortunately, I think Jeff has got lost in the mix for this reason. that's my take on it anyway.
Anyway, would it hurt to bring out those 8 string basses and 12 string basses out in the studio once in a while, I think you'll all agree they are a major part of the PJ sound everyone longs for and are all over records like Ten and Vs. I've always though that bass sound was so unique to PJ and also Kings X who I'm sure Jeff got inspiration from.
Ps. got some if you need it
