what do you keep your thermostat temps on in the summer?

I cannot understand why all the people in my office thinks it needs to be as cold as a meatlocker during the summer and it's not even that hot here yet!

I am constantly moving the thermostat back up from like 68/70 to around 78/80

some days it's so bad I have to go outside, take my shoes off, and stand on the blacktop just warm up!

78/80?!?!?! Why even have air conditioning?

I'd be one of the people turning it back down to 68/70

In the winter what do you like to keep it at?

78/80 is like working in soup. Blech. 68/70 is the perfect temp for working & sleeping.

At home I really only use the a/c to keep the humidity out

And I know 78/80 is too warm for some people and I'll compromise but I still think 68/70 is too cold

In the winter I keep it at 70

    65. The wife uses more covers in the Summer than in the Winter

  • 68/70 to sounds 'normal' to me. I'd be baking at 78/80.

I keep mine at 68 and at night sometimes that's even too hot. At 78 I don't think I would be a happy camper. I don't know what they keep it on at work but I am hot every morning and freezing every afternoon.

    I guess I'm just really cold-natured
Although it has gotten warm in the office this afternoon and I turned it down to 75

We didn't have central air growing up so now Im spoiled !

    we keep it at 69-70

Luckily my wife is a a/c snob (she grew up with it) and we dont have to fight about how cool it is in the house

I brought in a space heater to warm up my office during the summer. It is WAY too cold in here. I use A/C sparingly - usually only when I sleep or if it's really humid outside. There is no need for it to be this cold in here!

My GF prefers 78 to 80 at home. I prefer 75 at home. We compromise, I put it at 75.
