Eddie & The Who...

I am listening to Quadrophenia at present.
I am just curious as to why this was one of his favourites, not just this album but all their albums as a matter of fact.
Lot of sea references on Quadrophenia, does he relate to it because of his love of surfing?
Or did it click with his troubles at home, some of the songs on this are about home troubles.
What do you all think?

of course teenage angst has a lot to do with it. feeling lost and alone, while trying to fit in with the crowd to be one. all these things every teenager goes through. it's about growing up and self discovery. i think it has nothing to do with surfing...
the movie ties the album in so perfectly. based on real life facts. the mods/rockers were real people/teenagers and that is why the film/album work so well together. IMO
