Signs that the new album lacks enough new material...

Well...this is not a good sign.... when they have to put a remake of a Ed solo song on the new record.
I saw that " sleeping by myself" is one of the 12 songs....yikes.

    As far as I'm concerned the uke version is the demo version. Like Can't Keep, gone, speed of sound, BETTERMAN

    I'd be annoyed if OTE or Ole were on this album

    It worked for Eddie's Setting Forth song from Into the Wild - that sounded superb with the whole band behind it. I think Sleeping by Myself will sound amazing too with the full band - it will probably be extended too. They wouldnt have put it on there if it didnt sound awesome.

    To be fair there isn't a difference between Setting Forth on ITW and the band playing it live. Sounds exactly the same!

    It's good to wait and hear it first, but I'm getting a bit tired of people calling the Uke version a "demo". It was on an officially released album, so just stop. I know you are trying to convince yourself that it's ok. Personally, after that many years between albums, I'm disappointed in a remake. But maybe I'll love it when I hear it.

    Sleeping By Myself could be a totally re-hashed and a different song by the time the full band gets through with it. I think we're in store for a gem of a record with some new experimental sounding tracks as well.
