Hey guys. New to the board. I wanted to post this information I acquired the past few days trying to buy some tickets for the concert on craigslist. I was not a 10club member early enough to get tickets to this show. Found an ad selling GA tickets for $250 each. To good to be true right? Well I contacted "Tim" about the tickets @ 312-568-6220. He claims they were a wedding gift from his father who is a 10club member. 10Club members don't get there tickets until closer to the show if I am correct. He sent me these photos of the tickets right away, but when I asked him for a purchase receipt it did not come. Well that took about another day or so to get. When it finally came through I could tell why it took so long. Clearly done on a home computer.....Just passing the information along to the board. Hope nobody gets burned on these. I also put this info on craigslist....See you guys in Chicago!!

Here is the craigslist ad I wrote up:

If anyone has any extra tickets or knows of some REAL ones for sale please message me...Thanks!

10C tickets can only be picked up the day of the show by the person who ordered/paid for them, zero exceptions.... Any GA tickets for sale right now would be fakes...or potentially a jack ass 10C member willing to go pick them up the day of the show and then hand them over...and if that's the case I'd personally turn them in so they can fry.

  • Nice PSA. I noticed on the "receipt" there is a ticketfast (e-tickets) charge, but they are selling hard tickets. Anyway, good looking out!

I hope they release the 10c tix 1-2 days in advance... the day of the show is going to be a cluster-f*ck at the 10c window otherwise.

You'd think the scammer would at least do a LITTLE research... Even ignoring the 10C tix only being available day of show, there is the little matter of producing a "receipt" for "10C Tix" sold by tickets.com. Duh. Scammers are almost cute in their stupidity.

People who are skepticle will always find the info they need to know its a scam. But Im sure there are enough stupid people out there desperate enough to jump for it. Get it out there enough and sadly he will find someone!

I posted a wanted add on Craigslist and a guy responded with 4 GAs. After I told him I already knew all GAs were fan club only and will not be handed out until day of the show, he responded simply with this picture. Its a pretty good fake, with only some glaring problems .... so unfortunately, somebody will probably get burned

What else is glaring to you besides the barcode? No comma between 19 and 2013?
  • Ok first hint the tix in the OP's post are fake...the jackass couldn't even be bothered to put the NAME OF THE BAND on the tix.

For the second set of tix posted...clearly they are fake. What's missing? Well lets start with the price, and the taxes/inconvenience charges - all missing. I see a small price along the very bottom but the price would also be written on the side of the tix where the section/row/seat number appear and it's blank. Regular TM tix also have product number on them someplace. Perhaps it's the angle those pics were taken but I don't see that on there either. It may be at the bottom really small there, but that's also not where it usually appears.

I know all of this because I'm an usher at the ACC and I've had to deal with fake tix before.
I had a guy force tix to the Harlem Globetrotters game. Dude was kicked out and banned from ever buying tix for ACC shows again.

Did you call out the seller in reply to his CL post btw? To warn others viewing it (and force him to take it down)?

I have the same tickets from someone, and to top it off, in another post. Same person in a different add flip flopped the tickets and took at a different angle. Still can't believe these people. Karma is a bitch and hope someone really lets them have it.

What about the fact these GA tickets are for row 6 seat 21?

I don't like the large "FIELD GA" on the end of the ticket .... I also emailed the bar code to tickets.com and asked them if this was a valid number, to which they replied no.

Perhaps, but really all one would have to do is look at one real ticket. The fact that these scammers won't even take the time to do that indicates they are unlikely to seek advice on how to make good fakes.

I think this thread is doing more good than harm because some folks really don't know what to look for.

Yeah - I believe they do this so that they can monitor how many people/tickets are in the pit

I'd love to see these clowns a) have to take down their listings and b) have some unexpected visitors stop by to dissuade them from trying this ever again. Odds are that this isn't the first time, nor will it be the last that they've done this.

I was curious, so I used the google.
"Everything from criminal trespass if someone is caught and would have the tickets in their possession up to, and including, theft, fraud, theft by deception," Denton said of possible charges for culprits. "Penalties could range from a minimum of six months (in jail) and a $1,000 fine up to, and including, a two-year (prison) sentence or 18 months, and a $5,000 fine.

wow, these are pretty good looking scams, and it is truely sad to know people will be getting burned by them. Its inevitable unfortunately.
