so does this mean there's a chance that official boots will be released for this tour?
Not sure but imagine they are released in 24 Bit Flac-HD?
Fargo 2003
Winnipeg 2005
Winnipeg 2011
St. Paul 2014
*crossing fingers someone will ..
i know I will be...got it scheduled to record automatically...wonder if its going to be the whole show?
That's what was bumming me about this, I'm going, and my first reaction was, "Oh god, the bozos that will want to be 'heard' on the broadcast..." and then, "what a sec, what about rights to play covers!?!?!?!" Very pensive about this development, but all in all, pretty dang cool ... 'specially if boots are released!
And then, yeah, not my politics, I'd rather hear him sing, Masters of War would be fine...
But yeah, "intimate and personal experience" is out the door...
those are cleared before airing...a live, spur of the moment concert is different
Just signed up for the 7-day free trial!!!
I was considering a Sirius XM subscription back when "All Encompassing Trip"
was airing on a weekly basis & then completely forgot about it once the show stopped.
Looking forward to hearing Ed's show on Sunday night :ugeek:

But then James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Springsteen, Trent, Dylan, Petty, dang, I can't think of all the covers he's played on his solo tours, but it's pretty copious, for me a big moment of the shows is a surprising cover.
Well, maybe we get a new song instead... (trying to stay positive, trying, trying...)
Maybe Bruce's 41 shots since its Arizona
..
Just heard Ed now promoting his show for this Sunday.
Sweet!
As long the venue has BMI and ASCAP licenses, he can play any song (by any artist) in their catalogs. No further permission is necessary.
Same goes for PJ Radio. Assuming Sirius has BMI and ASCAP licenses for their stations (and they do), their stations can play any songs in those catalogs. That's why radio stations were able to play "illegal" PJ bootlegs over the air without getting sued - they didn't need permission. (Essentially, they already had it.)
The issue is RELEASING covers. For that, artists must obtain mechanical licenses from the rights owner (usually the songwriter(s)). However, these licenses are compulsory - the rights owner has to give them, so long as the artist requesting the license adheres to the statute.
When you hear about permissions being denied for covers, it usually has nothing to do with the artist actually needing permission. The statutory rates of compulsory licenses are generally unfavorable - major labels generally won't permit their artists to release a cover if the rights owner refuses to negotiate a more favorable rate. (The statutory details are also generally unfavorable for the rights owner as well, so they usually negotiate. But you occasionally end up with someone like Prince, who knows that he can generally block covers of his songs by refusing to negotiate.)
Long story long, Ed can play anything* he wants at this show, and Sirius can air it unaltered, so long as the venue and Sirius have up-to-date licenses.
(* There are a few things he theoretically couldn't play. For example, he can't play unreleased songs by other artists without their permission. But anything released and published is fair game.)
ah well...thats what i figured. heres hoping one of you tech savvy members record it for the rest of us!
