Let's Play Two - sequel in Boston "Let's Play Again"

MilestoneMilestone Posts: 1,117
Red Sox up 2-0 in the World Series.  PJ played Fenway this year.  Lots of live footage, I'm sure.   It's time for Danny Clinch to grab his gear....fly PJ to Fenway for game 5 (which will happen only if LA can win one at home). Put some Red Sox jerseys on the band.  Film them high fiving Red Sox players.  Make a DVD.  Call it "Let's Play Again".  Make tons of $$$.
I'm only asking 1% commission for the idea.

I think the World Series is a 2-3-2 format, so it wouldn't return to Fenway until an if-necessary game 6.

Damn, so LA has to win at least 2 at home?  Probably won't happen.  Should have gotten Eddie into Fenway during games 1-2 declaring his American League love for Boston.

Cool idea but, even as someone from Boston, I have to admit that I'd rather them do a DVD set of the Seattle shows than Boston!

    This.
I love Boston, but the Seattle "Experience" should get the DVD treatment this time.

but in this era, why couldn't "Bootlegs" be a full audio/visual experience now.

Right...me too....but the point is PJ playing love-fest baseball stadium shows, on a field, involving a World Series champ. Think 2016 Cubs and Let's Play Two.    Seattle didn't even make the playoffs and Boston is likely to win the whole shabang this year.  Also, Wrigley and Fenway are the obvious classic baseball stadiums.  Safeco Field in Seattle is beautiful, but it's an infant in lore and history.

I don't see what would be the appeal of rehashing the same format?

Because it would sell a boat load of copies.  And PJ is into $ and re-hashing playing these baseball stadiums every few years.  And what are the odds that world series continue to be won on fields that PJ plays in the same year?  And Ed seems to be best buddies with everyone from ownership down to the groundskeepers.

I personally think that Boston sports fans have had enough to cheer about over the last 20 years without Pearl Jam jumping on the Sox bandwagon too.
The Seattle gigs on DVD would be pretty f'n perfect. The city, the setlists, the band and the crowds were unreal

Too late.  Ed gushes about Fenway and the Red Sox on the boots that I've heard.
And I totally agree that a Seattle DVD would be best....but, I'm mainly proposing this because PJ played another classic baseball stadium during a World Series year.

Let's play two tied in Ed's love for Chicago, the cubs, and PJ history with the city.  The band like Boston, Ed loves Chicago.  The narrative of the curse being broken in the same year, that's what made it DVD worthy.  Boston can hold out hope for a stadium tour compilation, best case.
