Someone stole my '18 PJ hoodie at airport security!!

JH6056JH6056 Posts: 2,427
I'm flying out of Atlanta tonight & some little sh** stole my black skull hoodie I bought in Seattle from the TSA security tray before it went through the machine!! When my bag came out I forgot I'd put it on, started to walk away then realized "Oh shit my sweatshirt didn't come out!" Went back to machine, and it was gone! They looked all over and in lost & found, gone!

I'm trying to be zen about it, but I'm super-pissed! That $70 was hard to come by!  Really disappointed and mad.

If anyone sees someone selling a 2018 black skull XL hoodie on sale somewhere, please let me know.  Otherwise, how bad is the karma that comes with wishing bad things on them? I'm so upset!

Hi, I was in the air - are you serious?  You'd really do that?  And you don't want to keep it for yourself??

I'm going to PM you, but that is so beyond sweet, I feel bad even thinking about saying yes!

Wow this is turning into quite the story, you see the worst in people, then maybe some of the best. This is cool.

I woke up this morning thinking about this- I’m sure they have better things to do, but what would have happened if you asked them to look at security cameras to find the asshole? Airports are like Vegas, they probably can zoom in to read the writing on the tag of that sweatshirt if they wanted to.

Good point, there are obviously cameras... But I wanted to rush off and get to my terminal and HOPE that the jerk was brave enough to be carrying it or showing it off to someone when I happen to walk by.

That didn't happen, but another silver lining was that my flight had gotten cancelled and I was having to fly into an airport 1hr away from my home airport, landing after midnight.  Because I was stalking the terminal looking for my sweatshirt on someone, I saw a flight leaving from another gate to my city and ended up getting on it.  So there was that silver lining too.

I'm gonna try not to still wish ill on the little shit who stole it.  Mikemzl91 has turned this all around to show the best in people (like Jimmy said), so I'm gonna focus on the good folks.

Person who stole it is still a big little shit though!

Wow...pretty brazen to steal a sweatshirt at the TSA checkpoint. Sorry for the loss!

I have a similar hoodie mystery. I bought the gray hoodie at the Seattle show along with a few other pieces of merch. When I got back to my hotel. I realized it wasn't all going to fit into the backpack I brought with me. So, the morning after the show, I ran over to the FedEx near my hotel, boxed up 2 items (including the shirt) and shipped them to my house. Earlier this week, the box shows up at my house, I open it up, and there's only 1 item in the box (minus the shirt). No signs of damage to the box and no indication that it has been opened. My first assumption was that I was a total moron and forgot to package the shirt. So I call the FedEx location and ask them to check the lost and found. Nothing. The guy on the phone suggests he could check the surveillance tape and pulls up the video of me boxing up the merch. He sees me put both items into the box, sees me tape it up, sees me hand it off to them, and sees it sit on the shelf for a few hours before it gets picked up.

Best I can figure, my sweatshirt now exists in some kind of alternate dimension.

That is SO BIZARRE that they can see you put both in the box, it seems to arrive unopened, but it only has 1 item!?!?  Maybe your shirt and my sweatshirt are off in another dimension together having a laugh at our expense =)

It is strange. Frankly, I was so impressed that the FedEx guy could pull up the video that the mystery became more fun than the sweatshirt! On the phone, listening to the guy watch me pack up the items, I felt like I was on the most boring episode of CSI ever.

Let's be glad that if you were in a CSI episode, it involved a sweatshirt and not a dead body!

Now I'm wishing I HAD asked to see video... instead of discussing as long as I dod which line I came through since the TSA guy insisted I was confused about which line.

(No way was I confused, because unrelated to my shirt there was a big kerfuffle about lines so I knew for sure which line I'd come through)

^^ Too funny, the exact same thought crossed my mind!  Or, FedEx dude saw who stole it, told them he'd report them if they didn't give him the sweatshirt, and was wearing it when he responded to PP.  Cuz there are always twists and turns in CSI episodes ;)

Similar story for me (with a better ending though).  I left my Moonlight Graham hoodie in a hotel in Florida on spring break a few years ago.  I realized it while at the airport to fly home.  I called the hotel, the maid found the hoodie and they boxed up and sent it to me!
