I just booked a hotel at Moses Lake spanning from the first of May until the end of September. That should keep me covered for whenever they decide to play.
I'd love to go back one day... and camp this time!
My first time was my first PJ show and it was pretty much a last minute decision.
That was me in 2005. It was one of those, "hey, let's go to this place called The Gorge to see Pearl Jam" reply, "Okay."

Did Moses Lake hotel for DMB in 2006; it was ok. Did Terrace camping in 2010, 2012, 2014 all amazing weekends
is moses lake a close drive to the venue. seems they have a lot of hotel options there is terrace camping on site? ie park and walk to venue? thanks!
There's nothing at the Gorge itself. If you're traveling from the East, Moses Lake is the closest town , if you're traveling from the west than it's Ellensburg. I've only traveled from the East once, and I liked Moses Lake. It was a bit bigger than Ellensburg. Either town is pretty good. The hotels aren't overly expensive (way cheaper than staying in Seattle), and the A/C is a must
I camped in the field at the gorge once for a Lollapalooza and never again. It's in the wide open, no shade, and merciless heat. It's way better to stay in one of those towns and drive the 20 to 30 miles after the show for an Air Conditioned room.
Coming from the West we've also stayed in Cle Elum which is even cheaper, but requires more driving after the show (but shortens the drive the next day). It's pretty small too, but it does the trick.
good tips zod. ty im done with camping in the open with no shade in the heat. DONE hotels in moses lake or ellensburg sounds like the way to go maybe one day they will actually return there to play...
Terrace camping is top tier of camping onsite (other than a couple canvas tents in Glamping), but there's no shade so you need to bring your own 10'x10' pop-ups. It's quite at night compared to general camping (which you can walk to if you want to party). There are tractor-trailer restrooms and showers.

This was a no brainer. Wtf, man? It seems as if nobody knows how to organize rock events anymore these days.
Organize concerts for gawds sakes.
