Ban Harper and Josh Homme are my two favorites from the suggestions so far.

Why Jack White? I don't see there being more than a mutual respect there between them. Seems like Jack grew up as a musician with a different mindset than what PJ sorta symbolized in the early years. Like it or not, even when they were hugely popular, it wasn't all that hip to be a big fan. Maybe they'll develop a relationship going forward, but there's just hardly any history there.
I'm leaning more towards it being a peer(Cornell, Homme) or influence that became a peer(Neil, Daltrey).
I would not be shocked with: Cameron Crowe Levine Neil Ben Harper Jim James Perry (though hope he is going in that night oo) Tom Petty Cornell Theo Epstein John Cusak Pete or Daltrey Matt Dillon in Citizen Dick attire
The Ticketmaster excutives from circa mid 90's & maybe that food fight can finally happen

If the hall picks I'm sticking with my first two guesses John Mayer or Adam Levine
both uber fans with a lot of appeal
I'll vote Ben Harper or Jim James though. However, doesn't really seem like JJ's kind of thing
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
I would like to hear Kelly Curtis. Just let him talk, of as long as he wants about how it all has happened and been.
I know it won't happen but man would it be sweet if it did,
