Hard To Imagine to open. Was also my guess for N1, though. Lol
I feel so lucky to have been there for the only H2I this tour... Until tonight???
Well my prediction didn't come true. Oh well. I got to hear HTI live at Baltimore 2013. I think it was the second song of that set. I think it makes a great opener and obviously a great song in general.
I think they have OTE down pat now. They played a super tight version last night. Super tight. There's lots of moving parts in that song (4 guitars?!) and it sounded fucking incredible. Can't wait for the TMR release!

I had a super time in GA last night - everyone around me was super-cool and everyone had a nice amount of space to move even left once during even flow and got my spot back - thanks to all that helped me on my journey!!!!!
That was a great show. I tempered my expectations so I went in with an open mind and came away pleased. The only disappointment for me was the crowd. I was standing in front of a couple of guys who couldn't stop talking, even during most of the songs and it was incredibly annoying. It's a shame too because the show was phenomenal but my experience in GA on Saturday was much better. Still, it's hard to complain when you have Oceans and Footsteps open show.
We were an hour in and the newest song played was Off He Goes.
I loved it.
I'm all for new stuff and rarities, but in a setting like that give me 50,000 people singing Jeremy.
That said, two of the first three songs I hadn't heard live in 16 years. Just an amazing balance to the setlist.
I only went to Saturday but I loved the rarities and the rare covers. I hadn't heard Sad & Light Years since I think 2006 and got 5 or 6 never-heards for my 25th show.
Tell you what though, I thought Jeremy on Saturday was awesome. You are right, as it builds towards the end, with that many people singing the Ooooohhhhhhhs, it was really beautiful and kind of got to me.

Jeremy is absolutely fantastic live. The opening bass pops the crowd every single time. And you are right, the sing-a-long is awesome.
Yes! I was at both MSGs in 2003 and night 1 (Live at the Garden) was the clear winner. It can happen and I think they'll try their damndest!
Haha! I was referring to MSG 2016 but that just reinforces the point. I think realistically we will see a couple more rare songs and maybe a cool guest appearances but don't expect to see any white unicorns running around onstage with rainbows shooting our of their ass.
You must have not seen me then middle of the pit slightly to Mike's side, otherwise you would know there was a unicorn there.....unfortunately no rainbows.

I think we're finding a 3-hour show gives the band space to craft a setlist that appeals to both casual fans and the super nerds (er, "serious collectors.")
In a 2 or 2 1/2-hour show, you sometimes end up having to be "hits heavy" or play a show that loses 75 percent of the crowd.
I thought the Wrigley shows, and especially last night, nailed that balance really well. It was like a club show that also played to the last row of the upper deck.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

Good point. Each stadium show had a good blend of PJ fan singalongs, non-PJ fan singalongs (covers), and the deep cuts to give the obsessive fans something new. Kept the energy level good throughout the whole crowd.
Each festival show I've seen them play (Voodoo & ACL), they dug a little deeper than I expected, but it was mostly "the hits"... catering to casual fans... I understand, of course.
Last night (Wrigley 2) was incredible!

I could have done without Last Kiss but other than that, pretty stellar set. I never thought I'd get to hear Stone do Gimme No Lip live so that made my night.
I'm through with screaming

I found with Last Kiss you just have to try to enjoy it, and then it isn't so bad. It is a fun sing-along. The crowd likes it. It is their biggest hit after all.
