Twice in 1992: My first show was Jannus Landing in St. Pete in April, and my second show was Lollapalooza in Orlando four months later.
Jannus landing? Sweet. Was that with the peppers and.pumpkins? I was Lolla and then Bayfront.
Nope, Pearl Jam was the headliner. Eddie climbed the tent pole, which was cool considering that his voice was shot from some nasty illness he was getting over. The band was actually a little sloppy, too. I think it was just sort of a domino effect.
They were so fucking tight at Lollapalooza, though. Amazing performance! I'm so stoked that all 40 minutes or so of it are available via YouTube. Awesome to relive that one. And I'm pretty sure that you can see my Doc Marten' s fly through the screen every once in a while as well as as my hair flopping around.
Bayfront was a great show, too. They were really firing on all cylinders that night. I'd love to find a complete show recording of that one.

2003. Eddie thanked us all, said the band members' names, played what we thought was the last song and they left the stage. People were leaving, but I told my 10C buddy not to leave yet. I thought I heard something on the speaker system, and then everyone came back on for a third encore of YL.
I have no idea if the "bow at the end" had started yet, and I have no idea if they did it, but I was glad I stuck around.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
fuck i was 19 in 1994 and living in Vancouver BC , 1st show was Vancouver in 2003. 10th will be in 2014. no regrets though. PJ means more to me now than they would have in the 90's regardless.

For my first experience, I was able to see Pearl Jam on back to back nights in November of 1995 in Salt Lake City. I was a senior in high school and drove over three hours each way from another state. Since I wasn't old enough to rent a hotel, I had to drive back the same night, go to school in the morning and repeat the same three hour drive the next day. I still remember anxiously waiting for the bell to ring so I could jam down to SLC to see the boys.

My first post, so here goes...first was southend esplanade february 92, i had only heard Alive but it was local so took a chance. My life changed that night. Tried to get into the borderline in london the night after, but it was for press only so they wouldnt let us in. Eddie and Dave came out and gave us all a promo cd single for Alive. which made it all worth while.
I saw PJ at lolla '92 in Vancouver but it was part of a festival.... Sometimes I feel like my first PJ show was Missoula '98 because that actually felt like a PJ show
It was at the Perth Entertainment Centre in 1998 they played Two Nights...missed out on Tickets for the first Night but managed to get Tickets for the Second Night...I believe it was Jack Irons last PJ Gig that night.
Had to wait another 6 years after that before they came back to Europe.
^^^ This
My first show too. Wasn't a big fan at the time, but went with someone who was a PJ nut. Was in the pit just to the left of Ed and I thought I was going to die. The pit was packed in so tight, there was no space to move at my own free will. If people around me were jumping, I was jumping too. And for some reason, the only spot for my head was right by the shoulder of some middle-aged dude I didn't know, so I think I may have rested my head on his shoulder a few times during the show LOL.
Then we missed the last train back to London and slept in the train station in our soaking-wet clothes.
I think I loved most of the show, except the bits that I thought I was going to die! I definitely remember being mesmerized by Ed.
Next time I saw them was 2006. Just had other shit going on in between.
Was an avid admirer from 93. But working away from home/abroad does not help my gig count. 96 London first one, Leeds 14 only my 11th.

July 1993 at Finsbury Park, London. Uncle Neil was headlining with Booker T & The MGs and we bought tickets before we knew that PJ were the support band. I was 16 and it was the first concert I was allowed to travel to. Such a fantastic show.

Lollapolooza - summer of '92 w/Soundgarden and RHCP. Such an awesome show. I remember watching Ed climb the stage, seeing the stage crew all running around in a panic. I'd never seen anything like it. Then when he jumped into the crowd, and got back on stage, it was mayhem. That was the turning point for me.. That was my greatest early concert memory for a long time.
I jumped on early, followed them all the way along, but didn't join 10C until last yr. Not sure why I took so long.. Nonetheless here we are!
Unfortunately, later than I would have liked. I was 15-16 in '91 & I didn't know too much about the concert scene at that point.
I do remember the day the tickets went on sale. They announced in the late afternoon 1 day in February that tickets were going on sale a couple hours later at 6:00pm. I raced home from work & camped out in my room & started repeat dialing TM right at 6:00. Finally got through & bought tickets before it sold out in about 20 minutes (that was extremely fast back then!).
