"Month of May" is interesting; definitely punkier than anything they've done before. I like it.
The two songs I've heard. Can you read?
I'd rate the first two albums as two of my favorites since the early 90s and I doubt they can live up to my expectations, and the expectations of many more. Unless the other songs on this album are a lot better than these two, this album doesn't stand a chance to live up to them. Still cracking up?

Even if you didn't, deciding after two songs (one of which may be a B-side that isn't on the album) that you don't see the album as being as good is incredibly presumptious. Why not save your evaluation until you've actually listened to the album?
Neon Bible is my favorite album of the past decade, and Funeral is close behind. Yes, they've set the bar high. But they've also shown exactly the quality needed to continue making stellar and relevant albums: a refusal to remain stagnant. I love "The Suburbs." Great, great song that has grown on me with each listen. "Month of May" I could do without.
Wow, I guess you crack up pretty easily.
Both songs are on the album- read the letter on their website. I never said the album won't be as good as the last two, I said I don't see the album being as good- meaning the chances are pretty low. If the new album is actually better, I'll say it.
Most albums are around 45 minutes. The two singles combined are 9 minutes long. Therefore, we've probably heard 20% of the album. If I watch 20% of a sports game (choose any) and one team is getting blown out by another, I'd probably guess the team winning will stay in the lead. If I watch 20% of a movie (a sequel) and its not close to being as good as part 1, I pretty much know the remaining 80% won't make up for that. Yes, the improbably could happen, but it probably wont.
Hence my original post. I can't believe I just wasted time writing this. Why I, or anyone else on the internet, still finds the need to defend perfectly fine statements they made previously is beyond me.

It would be strange if it is a double album and they haven't mentioned it yet...but I'm hoping for it. Maybe that is why it took over 3 years (with very little touring for 2 of those years) for the album to be made.
EDIT: Based on the price of the vinyl ($25) I don't think this is a 2 disc set.

The Bank of America Pavilion is a great venue too, and the band is using paperless tickets! Love it! Now I have to take the time to check out these singles!
A cool side story. The band, especially Win Butler, have spent a bunch of time in Maine. I have a buddy who worked with Win at a photo developing shop in Bar Harbor Maine one summer.
