I was in the mood for some unplugged tunes tonight and decided to toss in the Staind unplugged DVD. Haven't heard it in years and have always like Staind from the beginning. So watching it decided to hop on their website and checked out their fanclub info. Come to find out they also offer a 7" single every year of a 2 live songs but they charge $35 a year! :o No magazine, no seniority in tix, but $15 more a year than Pearl Jam. I am happy that the 10C gives their members more for less depite all the bitching that goes on. There's no secret that Aaron Lewis was inspired by PJ and does them justice on the covers he does of them, but if he has any pull in his own fan club's dealings, lower the price or offer more shit. Until then, I am a faithfull 10 club member.

Many times when I hear people complain about the Ten Club it really shocks me. We get a lot for our $$$.
People do not understand that everything costs big money. For example when a band secures all of the best seats in the house there is a lot of up front cost and I would guess that we buy the tickets from them at their
cost. Ticketmaster and the other parties involved don't like to give up the best seats and the service charges etc. What other band puts you up front for $70-$75. People also get me when they compare costs with the 1990's, come on. I've been around for a long time and I'm just saying that it has been a pretty good ride.

It's cool that you're stickin up for 10c, but that's justa bunch of assumptions.

And we don't really get ALOT no matter how you cut it, imo. :D Not to say I'm dissatisfied, I'd just say more like "some". :D

They do seem to be one of the better, least generic fan clubs and all in all it's worth what you get.

that is funny!!! "justa bunch of assumptions" what part? I must of forgot that you have to be very critical and negative to seem smart and in the know. My point was that the Ten Club does a great job and it seems to me that their intent is to charge as little as possible unlike other bands and fan clubs that are figuring out how to get as much of your money as possible. And how much do you expect for $20. You must not get out much except out in cyberspace.

Everything you typed regarding PJ obtaining the best tix from TM is assumption. You typed it in your own post....... "I would guess"

With all respect if not true would that pretty much qualify as one assumption and not a bunch of assumptions?
I thought that it was common knowledge that the "best seats" are coveted by ticketmaster, their partners and the promoters. You responded as if I stated several ideas that were bullshit. That was not very nice

While I agree that the 10 Club is awesome I would love them even more if they actually mailed me my Christmas single and issue of Deep. I don't understand why it takes 3 weeks to get from Seattle to Massachusetts when everyone in Europe and Australia have already gotten theirs? :x

yeah we are definitely spoiled and being a member since '94 i have never had anything to complain about, if anything i've been constantly surprised, shocked and amazed... and i'll never understand why so many people complain when we are so lucky to get all the priveleges and special treats that we do, i think like most things in life people take things for granted way too often, when it really is the little things that make it all worth it... anyways enough rambling, just out of curiosity since it was brought up, what other fan clubs out there are worth joining? there are a lot of bands that don't have them that i'm into, smaller indie or punk bands, but just curious if any other bands out there what they have and offer and different prices, etc... i've seen a few and as far as i can tell no one even comes close to pearl jam...

I already contacted them...they told me I'd have to wait until the end of June and if I still don't have it by then...then I should contact them again. Needless to say, I'm not too happy with this response. I don't understand why I have to wait until the end of June. My membership has been up to date and is paid through 2010. No excuse why they can't mail mine to me. Ok, I'll stop bitching...sorry! :)

In fairness, it looks like they offer MORE than just a 7"... Now I'm not saying it's as good as 10C, but the posts here have been misleading. Decide for yourself: http://www.dysfunctionalstaind.com/

PS: I couldn't give a shit about Staind.

Yeah, hell that's not really a bad deal at all. I don't like Staind but if they were a band I was even sorta into I would join. Ya get a tshirt and a limited vinyl, seemingly right off the bat.

Somethin that would be cool is if 10c had some sorta introductory/welcome mailing.

Ok, they offer a t-shirt and access to an exclusive website. Still seems like a lot to me. Maybe I would feel differently if I was a passionate Staind fan instead of just a casual one.

That's because they're overplayed s**te. I am afraid I haven't jumped on the KOL bandwaggon. I liked their first few offerings but now you hear a song from their recent album every five minutes and they have turned annoying.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
