Eddie with MMJ- It Makes No Difference

Most of the threads right now are about new album/tour rumors, so I thought I’d deviate from the theme a bit to discuss a tune from a couple years ago that didn’t seem to get enough attention. Who was lucky enough to see Eddie cover It Makes No Difference with My Morning Jacket on the 2006 tour?

I'm sure there's some new fans on here since 2006...so if you haven’t heard it, I HIGHLY suggest downloading it below and listening at maximum volume. I can’t remember what show this recording is from, but it’s one of my all time favorite vocal performances from Eddie. He puts so much emotion into it..3:31 gives me shivers every single time. Jim James sounds great too. He and Eddie compliment each other really well in the chorus. I’d love to hear them collaborate more. Another Pearl Jam/MMJ tour would be just fine.

Anyway, this song is so good that I felt compelled to share. :) Here’s the link-

Could someone repost or PM me with it? The link won't work for me, and I lost my copy of the song a few months back.

I saw them do this in Grand Rapids 06. It was a big surprise since I am a big fan of The Band(who wrote the song). The Band have a very distinct sound. After seeing The Last Waltz, I tried to find out everything that I could about The Band. It was so cool to discover a band and find so much new stuff to listen too...but, sad also because Rick Danko and Richard Manuel were already dead when I found them.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

I agree, I LOVE The Band. When the Last Waltz came out, they were huge. I'm not sure why, but their music hasn't carried onto younger generations like The Who, Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc. It's a shame because they're a phenomenal band.

No one will ever touch the great Rick Danko for pure emotion on this song, but Eddie & Jim come as close as anyone can. You could say the same for their version of "A Quick One" too.

Totally agree that nothing will ever compare to Rick Danko's version.
But for me Eddie and Jim win the verse- "Without your love....rattle the walls"
