Pearl Jam vs Ames Bros dilemma

Ok... so i just got my copy of the Pearl Jam vs Ames Bros book... it is the orange signed copy of the book that my wife bought me for the holidays... i am a collector of many things PJ... i know that perfection of these things is crucial.. i really want to flip through it and check it out... but i dont want to open the plastic wrapper... think about the perfect unsealed copies of Benaroya Hall or any of the middle albums on vinyl... they are much more attractive as sealed collectibles than open collectibles..

So what do i do? I know someone is going to say... get the green one too... but i also want to know what number this thing is...

To spend $200 on it and not open it would be absurd. From what I recall Benaroya was only like $35. Also they printed alot more of these than Benaroya. Open it and enjoy it.

unless you are planning to sell it to someone, open it up. besides, it is a really awesome book to read and look at. think of what you are missing!!!

It's not going to get crazy valuable like the Benaroya vinyl so open it and enjoy it and keep it nice. There are still copies available so that should be your benchmark for its collectability. I don't see it getting more demand than it has right now. IMO

buy a second copy so you can look at it and then tell everyone you have two!

    just open it!

    ever see toy story 2??

where there is a rare toy still shrink wrapped?

if you don't open it you should be shrink wrapped!!

Buy a copy of the regular version to read through. I might do that. But yeah, as a collectible these books are not going to skyrocket. They might even decrease in value.

i think it's stupid to keep things sealed. benaroy vinyls sealed is a crime for those who want the vinyl to listen to it. The same goes for your book. A book is made to look at it, not to stay sealed in your living room. my 2 cents...

So what you're saying is that you bought the book so that you could sell it in 5-10 years for a profit?

Open it. Enjoy it. Don't be a book whore.

is benaroya crazy valuable? crazy like someone would trade me a Easystreet Klausen for an unopened Benaroya?
I wouldn't do this though, but for a mint 1996 PJ Charlotte EMEK, I'd hand deliver the Benaroya myself!

    What?

    Open it.

were meant to be read, open it

just like vinyl is meant to be played-besides keeping vinyl completley sealed will cause it to warp over time.

I agree given that there are 2,600 + copies of the s/n special edition.

Spend $200 on a book and keep it sealed. That sounds about right????

Stuff like this drives me nuts. I really don't get it.
