And on a softer note: Dolphin's Lullaby, by Firefall. Kinda hard to find, but a beautiful song!

Close you weary eyes and drift away, it's alright
I'll be here until the break of day brings the light
I can sing a lullaby they sang for me when I was just your size
Just a little poem with a melody to shut those sleepy eyes
Singin dolphins over the ocean, where it's clear and it's deep
Help the waves with your gentle motion, and rock this child to sleep

May sailing ships and secrets fill your dreams with delight
Anything you want is yours for free for the night
I won't let no bad dreams come and bother you, just put your trust in me
I'll be standing by to keep a watch on you while you're away at sea

Singin Dolphins over the ocean, where it's clear and it's deep
Help the waves with your gentle motion, and rock this child to sleep
You've got to rock this child, you gotta rock this child to sleep
You've got to rock-a-by my baby rock-a-by my baby rock-a-by

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and drop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials
Because the revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruption.
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
Blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John Mitchell,
General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
Hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary.

The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will be brought to you by the Schaefer Award Theatre and
will not star Natalie Wood and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia.
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal.
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs.
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
Thinner, because The revolution will not be televised, Brother.

There will be no pictures of you and Willie Mays
Pushing that cart down the block on the dead run,
Or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not predict the winner at 8:32or the count from 29 districts.

The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
    Brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of young being

There will be no slow motion or still life of
Roy Wilkens strolling through Watts in a red, black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
    For just the right occasion
Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and
Hooterville Junction will no longer be so damned relevant,
andWomen will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day.

The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock News
and no pictures of hairy armed women Liberationists and
    Jackie Onassis blowing her nose.
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb, Francis Scott Key,
nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash,
Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth.

The revolution will not be televised

The revolution will not be right back after a message
About a whitetornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a germ on your Bedroom,
a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that cause bad breath.
The revolution WILL put you in the driver's seat.
The revolution will not be televised,

WILL not be televised,WILL NOT BE TELEVISED.

    The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
    The revolution will be live.

    Stop Breathin' - Pavement

got struck by the first volley
of the war in the corps
    never held my service
send em a wire, give em my best
    this ammunition never rests
no one serves coffee, no one wakes up

    stop breathin'
    stop breathin'
    breathin' for me now
    write it on a postcard:
    dad they broke me.
    dad they broke me.

i can see the lines open shutters
and the leaves flocked on a grid
that's what they made my hero say
but nothing gets me off so completely
but when you put it down
ten feet down in the ground
call and response in the negative home

    stop breathin'
    stop breathin'
    breathin' for me now
    write it on a postcard:
    dad they broke me.
    dad they broke me.

So glad to see you well, overcome them
    Completely silent now
    With heaven's help
    You've cast your demons out
And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you off your cloud
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're plannin' to go about makin' your amends
    To the dead

    To the dead

Recall the deeds as if they're all
    Someone else's
    Atrocious stories
    Now you stand reborn
    Before us all
So glad to see you well

And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you to the ground
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're plannin' to go about makin' your amends
    To the dead
    To the dead

    With your halo slippin' down
    Your halo slippin'
    Your halo slippin' down
    Your halo slippin' down

    Your halo slippin' down
(I'm more than just a little curious
How you're plannin' to go about makin' your amends)

    Your halo slippin' down
Your halo's slippin' down to choke you now

Roger Waters’ dad died at the siege of Anzio in 1944 and he’s grappled with war’s futility ever since. Dark Side of the Moon's dreamy ode to battlefield confusion was originally called "The Violence Sequence."

    Us and Them Live

    Us, and them
And after all we're only ordinary men.
    Me, and you.
God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do.
Forward he cried from the rear
    and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
    moved from side to side.
    Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
    Up and down.
But in the end it's only round and round.
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
    The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
    There's room for you inside.

"I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short,
sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off
lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once!
It was only a difference of opinion, but really...I mean good manners
don't cost nothing do they, eh?"

    Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about.
    With, without.
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind.
For the want of the price of tea and a slice
    The old man died.

    The Who- Naked Eye

    Take a little dope
And walk out in the air
The stars are all connected to the brain.
Find me a woman and lay down on the ground,
Her pleasure comes falling down like rain,
Get myself a car, I feel power as I fly,
Oh now I'm really in control,
It all looks fine to the naked eye,
But it don't really happen that way at all,
Don't happen that way at all.

You sign your own name and I sign mine,
They're both the same but we still get separate rooms,
You can cover up your guts but when you cover up your nuts,
You're admitting that there must be something wrong,
Press any button and milk and honey flows,
The world begins behind your neighbor's wall,
It all looks fine to the naked eye,
But it don't really happen that way at all,
Nah nah no, don't happen that way at all.

You hold the gun and I hold the wound,
And we stand looking in each other's eyes,
Both think we know what's right,
Both know we know what's wrong,
We tell ourselves so many many many lies,
We're not pawns in any game, we're not tools of bigger men,
There's only one who can really move us all,
It all looks fine to the naked eye,
But it don't really happen that way at all.

The Bravery of Being out of Range ~ Pink Floyd

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rekuWIKr55A

    You have a natural tendency
    To squeeze off a shot
    You're good fun at parties
    You wear the right masks
    You're old but you still
Like a laugh in the locker room
    You can't abide change
You're at home on the range
    You opened your suitcase
    Behind the old workings
    To show off the magnum
    You deafened the canyon
    A comfort a friend
    Only upstaged in the end
    By the Uzi machine gun
    Does the recoil remind you
    Remind you of sex
Old man what the hell you gonna kill next
Old timer who you gonna kill next
I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Saw a U.S. Marine in a pile of debris
    I swam in your pools
And lay under your palm trees
I looked in the eyes of the Indian
Who lay on the Federal Building steps
And through the range finder over the hill
I saw the front line boys popping their pills
Sick of the mess they find
    On their desert stage
And the bravery of being out of range
    Yeah the question is vexed
Old man what the hell you gonna kill next
Old timer who you gonna kill next
    Hey bartender over here
    Two more shots
    And two more beers
Sir turn up the TV sound
The war has started on the ground
Just love those laser guided bombs
    They're really great
    For righting wrongs
    You hit the target
    And win the game
    From bars 3,000 miles away
    3,000 miles away
    We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range
    We zap and maim
With the bravery of being out of range
    We strafe the train
With the bravery of being out of range
    We gain terrain

    Prove You Wrong

Diggin' for answers you fall in a hole
Lessons of nonsense shall cast the first stone
Pontifical preachings past now quick to forget 'em
I'm depending on no one I distrust and oppose

    Prove you, prove you wrong
You can bet on it, I'll prove you wrong
    Prove you, prove you wrong
Depend on it, I'll prove you wrong

    Quest for solutions
You ain't gonna get one here
Why waste my breath upon the ears of the deaf man
    Skeptic acceptance caution
    Fraudulent cause
Dependence on no one best distrust and oppose

    Pointless

    Hitman's got no doubt about
    Position in the work place
    A matter of investment
    Ridding human excess
Dealing stocks and bonds of blood
    Shotgun dividends
But you hold a gun that's smoking

    So pointless keep pushing
    Keep shooting so pointless

    Head full 'o bullets
    A soul that's been spent
    That be the pension
    In bizness dealt with lead
    Kickbacks and cutbacks
They all stab you in the back
    The bloody palms
    Primed for greasing

    Contradictions

    Time for double standards
    Now who shall be blamed
    With the change of weather
    Scapegoats are acclaimed
Acts of no reason: populous response
    Opinions are like assholes
    Everyone's one

    All these contradictions
    Are bound to confuse
    What wrong will you choose?

    Can I ask a question?
Or am I out of line
    Some more lip service
    Will smooth it out nice

    Beg To Differ

You Make The Right Moves, I Beg To Differ
Rather Be A Fool And See Things Clearer.
You Found A Quick Way To Fill Your Pocket.
That's The Way In A World That's Lost It
    To Fall In Line
    It's Meaningless, Mindlessness.
    I Beg To Differ
    Disharmony Amongst All Our Brothers.
That's Okay, Be True To Our Grudges.
No Desire To Walk Beside You.

Sums up the Iraq and Afghanistan WARS.....

    MEGADETH *Architecture Of Aggression*

    Born from the dark,
In the black cloak of night.
    To envelop its prey below,
    Deliver to the light.
    To eliminate your enemy,
    Hit them in their sleep,
And when all is won and lost,
The spoils of wars are yours to keep.

Great nations built from the bones of the dead,
With mud and straw, blood and sweat,
You know your worth when your enemies
    Praise your architecture of aggression.

    Ensuing power vacuum,
    A toppled leader dies
His body fuels the power fire,
And the flames rise to the sky.
One side of his face a kiss,
    The other genocide.
Time to pay with your ass,
    A worldwide suicide.

    Born from the dark,
In the black cloak of night.
    To envelop its prey below,
    Deliver to the light.
    To eliminate your enemy,
    Hit then in their sleep,
And when all is won and lost,
The spoils of war are yours to keep.

"Momma Bake a Pie (Daddy Kill a chicken)"

People starin' at me as they wheel me down the ramp toward my plane
The war is over for me I've forgotten everything except the pain
Thank you sir and yes sir it was worth it for the old red-white-and-blue
And since I won't be walking I suppose I'll save some money buying shoes
The bottle hidden underneath the blanket over my two battered legs
I can see see the stewardess make over me and ask were you afraid
I say why no I'm Superman and couldn't find a phone booth quite in time
A GI gets a lotta laughs if he remembers all the funny lines
Mama bake a pie daddy kill a chicken your son is comin' home 11:35 Wednesday night
Mama will be crying daddy's gonna say son did they treat you good
My uncle will be drunk and he'll say boy they do some real great things with wood
The letter that she wrote me said goodbye she couldn't wait and lots of luck
The bottle underneath the blanket feels just like an old friend to my touch
I know she'll come and see me but I bet she never once looks at my legs
She'll talk about the weather and the dress she wore the July 4th Parade
Lord I love her and I don't believe this bottle's gonna get her off my mind
I see here in the paper where they say the war is just a waste of time
Mama bake a pie daddy kill a chicken your son is comin' home 11:35 Wednesday night

Tom T. Hall (written for the Vietnam War...covered in 2004 by the Drive-by Truckers)
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

A Native American woman of peace Buffe Sainte-Marie the song starts at the 1:50 mark.

    UNIVERSAL SOLDIER

    He’s 5 foot 2 and he’s 6 feet 4
And he fights with missiles and with spears
    He’s all of 31 and he’s only 17.
And he’s been a soldier for a thousand years

    He’s a catholic, a Hindu, an atheist, a Jane
A boarders, a Baptist and Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t ‘ve killed
And he knows he always will kill
You’ll for me my freidn and me for you

    He’s fighting for Canada.
    He’s fighting for France.
    He’s fighting for the USA.
And he’s fighting for the Russians.
    And he’s fighting for Japan
And he thinks we’ll brought an end to war this way.

    He’s fighting for democracy,
    he’s fighting for the reds
He says it’s for the peace of all.
He’s the one, who must decide,
who’s to live and who’s to die.
And he never sees the writing on the walls.

    But without him,
how would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone
He’s the one who gives is body
as a weapon to the war.
And without him all this killing can’t go on

    He’s the universal soldier
And he really is the blame
    But his orders comes from
    far away no more.

    They come from him.
    And you and me.
    Oh, brothers can’t you see.
This is not the way we put an end to war

    Peace

What the hell are fighting for.....the *GODS OF WAR*

Feelin like its all over, feelin like theres no love
Feelin like its not easy, breathin life in the dust
On a countdown to zero take a ride on the nightmare machine
    There aint gonna be heroes
    There aint gonna be anything
    Oh!

Here it comes, here comes the night
Here it comes, hell in the night
Here it comes, here comes the night

    When we all fall down
    When we walk into silence
    When we shadow the sun
    When we surrender to violence
    Oh!
    Then the damage is done
    Put away that gun!
    I dont wanna be there
    I dont wanna be anywhere
    Oh!

    Thats right!
Were fightin for the gods of war but what the hell we fightin for?
Were fightin with the gods of war but Im a rebel
And I aint gonna fight no more

    No way!
    On a countdown to zero
Take a ride on the nightmare machine
    There aint gonna be heroes
    (whoa)
    There aint gonna be anything
    No!

    Dont ya know thats right

Stop fightin for the gods of war
(stop fightin for the gods of war)
Yeah what the hell we fightin for?
(what in the hell we fightin for? )
Were fightin with the gods of war
    Heavy!

Something that we have too much of today which are walls that at times prevents us from getting to know each other in this world. This band LIVING COLOUR... *WALL* from the album *Stain* gets it right.

    *WALL* Live in Argentina 2007

We hate each other 'cause of race and religion
We hate each other 'cause of class and position
We want to know why is love so hard to come by
Give me a reason why you love so hard to try

The walls between us all must fall
The walls between us all must fall

We hate each other 'cause we dance to different music
We hate each other 'cause we think we know it all
We hate each other 'cause that's what our parents taught us
We hate each other for no reason at all

The wall between us all must fall
The wall between us all must fall

We teach our young men how to kill and mame and torture
We teach our young men how to make their mothers cry
We want to know, why is love so hard to come by?
Give me the answer, why is love so hard to try?

The wall between us all must fall
The wall between us all must fall

This is how our world breaks down...
The wall between us all must fall...
This is how our world breaks down...
The wall between us all must fall.....

It's now the middle of OCTOBER by U2 Live

    October
And the trees are stripped bare
    Of all they wear
    What do I care

    October
    And Kingdoms rise
    And Kingdoms fall
    But you go on...

    ...and on...

    don't compete; coexist

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'

    *Excuse Me Mister*....Ben Harper

    Oh - excuse me Mr.
    Do you have the time,
Or are you so important that it stands still for you?
    Excuse me Mr.
Want you lend me your ear,
Or are you not only blind but do you not hear?
Excuse me Mr. but isn't that your oil in the sea,
And the pollution in the air Mr.,
    Whose could that be?

    So, excuse me Mr.
    But I'm a mister too.
And you're givin' Mr. a bad name,
    Mr. like you.
And, I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name,
'cause it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame.
It's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame.

    And I've seen enough,
    Oh - I've seen enough,
I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

    Excuse me Mr.
Can't you see the children dying?
You say that you can't help them,
    Mr. you're not even trying.
    Excuse me Mr.
    Just take a look around.
Oh, Mr. just look up and you will,
    You'll see it's coming down.
Oh, excuse me Mr. but I'm, I'm a mister too.
And you're givin' Mr. a bad name,
    Mr. like you.
So, I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name,
'cause it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame.
it's a Mr. like you, puts the rest of us to shame.

    And I've seen enough,
I've seen en..., I've seen en...,
I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.
    I've seen enough,
Oh - I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

'cause Mr. when you're rattling on heaven's gate.
By then it is too late.
'cause Mr. when you get there,
They don't ask what you saved.
All they'll want to know Mr. is what you gave.
    So, excuse me Mr.
    But I'm a mister too.
And you're givin' Mr. a bad name,
    Mr. like... you.

So, I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name,
'cause it's a Mr. like you puts the rest of us to shame.
Mr. like you, puts the rest of us to shame.
    Oh...
    ...shame.

    I can't wait till tomorrow,
    I've got a suitcase packed, I'm leaving.
I've got a key to the lock in your head.
You know the truth is there for all.
Walking in the park just the other day,
    got hit with a rock,
easy in the atmosphere, the people stole the money.
Those of us who stand around
and wait until the penny drops,
    introducing isolated isotopes of worry.
    Blistered in the stinking sun,
    the iris and the cataracts.
Got five hundred bucks, out of here,
    executing anarchy OK!
    I got a.
    Unfortunately time is geared
to spin around the centre clock,
not as if you give a shit
or give a fuck or care a lot.
    Riding on a roller coaster,
    imitating counterfeit.
Come up for air, no one cares,
    jump the queue for
    anarchy OK!
Get up, you got to stand up,
you got to get up, you got to stand up.
    Anarchy OK!

*Language Of Violence*.....Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy...Michael Franti

The first day of school was always the hardest
The first day of school the hallways the darkest
    Like a gauntlet
    the voices haunted
Walking in with his thin skin lowered chin
He knew the names that they would taunt him with
    Faggot sissy punk queen queer
Although he'd never had sex in his 15 years
And when they harassed him it was for a reason
And when they provoked him it became open season
for the fox and the hunter, the sparks and the thunder
that pushed the boy under, then pillage and plunder
It kind of makes you wonder
    how one can hurt another
But dehumanizing the victim makes things simpler
It's like breathing with a respirator
It eases the conscience of even the most conscious
    and calculating violator
Words can reduce a person to an object,
    something more easy to hate
    An inanimate entity, completely disposable,
    no problem to obliterate

    But death is the silence
    in this language of violence
    Death is the silence
    But death is the silence
    in this cycle of violence
    death is the silence
It's tough to be young, the young long to be tougher
When we pick on someone else it might make us feel rougher
Abused by their fathers but was at home though
so to prove to each other that they were not homos
The exclamation of the phobic fury
    executioner, a judge and jury
The mob mentality, individuality was nowhere
Dignity forgotten at the bottom of a dumb old dare and a numb cold
    stare
On the way home it was back to name calling
Ten against one they had his back up against the wall and
they reveled in their laughter as they surrounded him
But it wasn't a game when they up jumped and grounded him
They picked up their bats with their muscles straining
and they decided they were gonna beat this fella's brain in
with an awful, powerful, showerful, an hour full of violence
Inflict the strictest brutality and dominance
They didn't hear him screaming, they didn't hear him pleading
They ran like cowards and left the boy bleeding
in a pool of red 'til all tears were shed
and his eyes quietly slid into the back of his head
    dead...

You won't see the face 'til the eyelids drop
You won't hear the screaming until it stops
The boy's parents were gone and his grandmother had raised him
She was mad she had no form of retaliation
The pack didn't have to worry about being on a hitlist
But the thing they never thought about was that there was a witness
to this senseless crime, right place wrong time
Tried as an adult one of them was gonna do hard time
The first day of prison was always the hardest
The first day of prison, the hallways the darkest
    Like a gauntlet
    the voices haunted
    Faggot, sissy, punk, queen, queer
Words he used before had a new meaning in here
As a group of men in front of him came near
for the first time in his life the young bully felt fear
He'd never been on this side of the name calling
Five against one they had his back up against the wall and
he had never questioned his own sexuality
but this group of men didn't hesitate in their reality
with an awful, powerful, showerful, an hour full of violence
Inflict the strictest brutality and dominance
    They didn't hear him screaming
    They didn't hear him pleading
They took what they wanted and then left him bleeding in the corner
The giant reduced to jack horner
But dehumanizing the victim makes things simpler
It's like breathing with a respirator
It eases the conscience of even the most conscious
    and calculating violator
The power of words, don't take it for granted
when you hear a man ranting
Don't just read the lips, be more sublime than this
Put everything in context, is this a tale of rough justice
in a land where there's no justice at all ?
Who is really the victim ? Or are we all the cause, and victim of it
    all ?

You won't see the face 'til the eyelids drop
You won't hear the screaming until it stops
