I was just reading through stories from people who had met him. Sounds like he was genuinely a great guy. He'll be missed, and my thoughts go out to his father who has now lost two sons.

kinda curious as to how it happened, not much is being said on this.  I know they want their privacy and all, just kinda weird/odd that's all.

Pantera was glassblowing music for me while in art school. The furnaces were loud, but Pantera was louder!

did see Pantera twice as well.  Once at Ozzfest and the "Real Steel" tour.

Wish i saw him with Damageplan.  I didn't even know the band existed until after Dimebag died though.  I remember seeing a video with Dimebad and Vinnie Paul on MTV and thought it was a new Pantera song or something.  Usually MTV would show the name of the song and artist before and after the video but this time they didn't (and i recorded it on my VCR).  Finally found out about a year later it was the video for Breathing New Life.

Never saw Hellyeah either.  Would have in the beginning but the only time they came to philly was for like the jagermeister tour and some other metal tour.  By the time they came to philly by themselves just lost interest in them.

I saw Pantera on February 5, 1992 at the James A Rhodes Arena (The JAR) at The University of Akron.  My husband is still surprised that I saw them before him.

We saw Hellyeah twice.  May 2016 was the House of Blues Cleveland show that my husband won tickets.  We met the band/saw them play the Mayhem Festival in July of that same year.

Good stuff.  Good guys.  Sad.  :frowning:
