Words Misunderstood

A thread where we discuss words who's true meaning is often misunderstood.

One that comes immediately to mind for me is "mojo".  This has to be the most misunderstood, misused word in all of rock and roll.  A mojo is not a man's penis.  A mojo is an amulet used in African American folklore.  It's a flannel bag that is constructed in a precise manner and is used for specific purposes such as to cast a spell, make a charm, bring good luck, etc.  It is also often referred to as a gris-gris bag.  Dr. John knows what that is.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
