He was my favorite of the old blues greats. I have loved him since I was wee and listening to him with my Grandpa.

Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Ack!  My dad loved him and played all of the time.  For sure one that I knew so well as a youngster.
89 years old -- and made a hell of a mark!
What I heard in my head when I saw your thread.

I'll always associate him with Happy Days.

(one of the best names ever, by the way)

I read that Fats' favorite cover of "Ain't That a Shame" was the one done by Cheap Trick.  That's pretty cool.

R.I.P. Fats Domino.  A legend, one of the greats.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
