F U Twitter

If I was cpu savvy I'd write a virus to take down the Twitter right now. All these "protect Eddie" tweets are a disappointing reminder of how juvenile large portions of our society can be.

Couldn't agree more. Juvenile is a good word for it. Ridiculous is another.

I think that is as distasteful and stupid as the rest of you... But yeah, everyone's different. I guess if you can't stand to have access to people acting in ways you don't appreciate, social media definitely isn't for you.

I dumped my twitter account.  Waste of time.  Adios twitter.

The problem isn't Twitter. The problem is the people on Twitter. The same can be said of Facebook or any other social media platform.

Exactly.  Hell, I was reading a Yahoo article about a guy who died at Wrigley Field falling over a rail.  99% of the comments were just downright distasteful.  Some people just think the world exists for them to be assholes every chance they get.

All the lead singers from Seattle are now dead expect Eddie and people don't want him to die so are saying to protect him.  I don't get the big deal...

Perhaps a bit insensitive given the immediate timing but I don't see the big deal...

I don't think any one means any ill will with these tweets.  Everyone is sad and dealing with it in their own way.

People talking about how he's the last of the 90's greats so he should be protected now to make sure nothing happens. Goofy and juvenile, but mostly harmless talk.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Yeah apperently he should be "bubble wrapped" , "wrapped in a wool sweater" and is the "Betty White" of grunge.....
I don't know call me crazy, but the man just lost a very close friend and is now trending on Twitter as a joke. I'm calling a spade a spade, it's pathetic.

I guess everyone grieves differently, but I agree that it is pathetic. Weirdly obsessed Vedder fans, which probably makes Ed a bit queasy. Today is about mourning the passing of Chris, not obsessing about Ed.

I like Twitter and I don't care what's trending on Twitter.

Also, pretty sure none of the people are obsessed Eddie fans and are just random people who like the 90's music and realized he is the only singer left...

Agreed. But it's still a sad snapshot of where large portions of our society's collective thoughts exist.
