US Soccer Stadiums

Have always thought that a lot of the MLS only stadiums have been the perfect untapped venues for concerts. I know they've been used but never understood why not more widespread and frequent. Anyway. Saw this and got excited.

Would love to see PJ here next time around

Always my thought. I fear we are headed to larger stadium shows one day. Love the old ballpark shows but these buildings are way more suited and an awesome common ground for a stadium feel at a reasonable size

Unless that 80,000 seater stadium happens to be the San Siro in Milan!

It is a good idea, however, due to the blocking out of seats behind & to the sides of the stage, the capacities are sometimes just a bit over those of large arenas.

Mapfre Stadium where the Crew play has a permanant stage on one end and host several concerts a year. I would love a PJ concert there.

I'm still moderately convinced that PJ is only popular in the really densely populated areas of the US to play stadiums. Basically the NorthEast part of the united states. When they play the West Coast (with the exception of Seattle) or the South it seems like tickets don't move quite as swiftly. PJ spends so much time playing the US NorthEast that we kind of think they can easily sell out anything.

I'm guess what i'm saying is I'm not sure they're big enough to play stadiums everywhere, but that could be pretty cool for shows in the US NorthEast where ticket demand is extraordinarly high.

Has anyone ever done concerts at the US Open tennis site? Feels like a circular or rotating stage would be perfect there. Not sure it's really Pearl Jam's thing but it could be cool.

They would easily sell out Mapfre Stadium in Columbus capacity 19,968. Nationwide Arena which they played in 2010 has 18,500 capacity.

I move in a week... to Telluride, CO.
If that happens, i would be so unbelievably bummed to miss out on both the Telluride show and Columbus show.

Not sure about that one. Majority of the tour sold out in places like Greenville, SC, Coumbia,SC Jacksonville, FL,etc. Some of these on a Monday or Tuesday night. I think any mid-large city in the us at a stadium venue of 35-50K would sell out. Have PJ will travel.

I always just looked at this as an outdoor arena show. Not a stadium show. Which makes it best of both worlds

The USTA would probably not be okay with that.

I'm down for MLS Stadium shows but only if they wait till my team builds their stadium
