The Hartford Show, Everybody was on FIRE

edited August 2008 in Given To Fly (live)
I just listened to the official boot for the first time, and EVERYBODY is on FIRE!
Mike of course stole the show with the best Porch I've ever heard, and an Incredible Even Flow among others.
Stone tore it up on Brain of J, Two solos in NFY, the fuck up in DTE, and then his rediculous solo in Fuckin' Up.
Jeff was his usual steady self, and rocked in Smile on the guitar, and Jeremy was especially good.
Matt was crazy on fire the whole show, playing fills like I've never heard out of him before.
Eddie was screaming like he hasn't in years, even in that sweltering heat!

So Damn Amazing

Same here, I'm the one who made the audience recording, but theres so much that comes out in the official that didn't come out in mine.
For example, I found out that it is Stone soloing on Brain of J, I always thought it was Mike

i don't think Stone did the solo in this particular version of Fuckin' Up due to guitar malfunctions

Brain Of J. sounds amazing on the boot! I also thought it was Mike since he co-wrote it with Eddie.

I made a thread about this already but I like the fact they had 5 album openers on the setlist.

Cant Keep, Brain of J., Last Exit, All Night and Breakerfall. Breakerfall also sounds great on the boot.

He got a new guitar right after the second verse though, I remember Stone and Mike did somewhat of a quick duel solo (not too sure though).

i loved the guitar malfunction. i was laughing so hard because someone threw stone a tamborine and he was rockin with it for awhile then a tech offered him a new guitar and he shook his head no but eventually took it and rocked some more

lol, yeah that was pretty amusing, he did enjoy playing the tamborine more than he probably thought he would have had that not happened

Yeah, Stone started using a guitar again right before Mike's solo, and then he had a massive solo at the end. You can really tell that he's the riff writer for the band in his solos like that.

I finally got my copy (along with Bonnaroo) in the mail last week. The Hartford show may be one of the best boots I've heard in awhile. As a CT native (& expatriot), it makes me proud. Blows Bonnaroo outta the water. Only thing that would have made it better would have been the inclusion of Who You Are & WMA (& exclusion of Big Wave).

I just got the boot this weekend and I was definately skeptical. My favorite had been the NY shows and SC. This show was amazing! It is definately the best show I have heard from this tour and I can't stop listening to it.

let's not forget the only performance of "Immortality" for the entire 2008 tour..

Mikey's solo is loud and strong ..

and Matt's drum solo segues into a intense jam by the rest of the band..
    like the 1998 versions..

no tepid ending like in 2003 tour..

    and "In Hiding" folks!....

    In...f**king Hiding!

I finally got this boot in the mail. It sounds fucking great. I have to say though, Eds voice sounds shot at times. Especially during Brekerfall and N4U. I've only listened to disc one so far.

Yes, we got the MP3 of Camden I &II and DC and I got the actual CD's for MSG I & II and Hartford the quality is much better on the CD...We are mostlikely going to end up buying the CD for the Camden shows and DC... it is that much better.

    yeah, shear perfection...

i just figured out these 2008 boots sound best on a home stereo...

    not ipod or car stereo...

replicates the concert sound better over home speakers...
