Pressed to the Edge: Why vinyl hype is destroying the record

CButt2CButt2 Posts: 157
I'm not a audiophile nor do I collect vinyl records. I thought it was an interesting read and kinda explains why they do the pre-sale for Vault releases and why they take so long to receive. Enjoy. http://www.factmag.com/2015/05/07/pressed-to-the-edge-vinyl/?utm_campaign=6.9:+Iron+&+Resin+//+Endless+Summer+(eg7wm3)&utm_medium=email&utm_source=The+Newsletter+Minus+Personalization+(May+2015)

Good read. Pretty crazy that a large part of vinyl production hinges on an old Japanese guy in his garage.

What I got out of that was the reissues of good music are removing the ability for quick pressings of dance music... lol. Not heartbroken.

I wonder if Vinyl's resurgence will last long enough for anyone to try expanding production of materials and records. The article briefly mentioned at the end... what happen's when the reissues are done? IE I'm sort of there. I've managed to get most of my favourite music in vinyl (especially the 90s stuff). My vinyl buying has been on the decline. There's a few more bands out there I need to get on it (TOOL!!!) but a lot of bands have now reissued their catalogs.
