Hopefully this is true and will lead to more U.S. dates. Isn't Austin right around the corner from MSG?

Kind of similar to last year. My money is they work a small tour for the Canadians into this and may be sprinkle in a few US to support the logistics of hauling equipment from the Northwest to Latin America.
This is the most interesting thing to pop up on the forum in months but im in the minority cuz this isn't getting half the love of the mystery vinyl. I hope its true and there are a few NA show coming around it.
No way they would play ACL two years in a row... I don't think anyway. ACL promoters probably don't want the band two years in a row and PJ probably doesn't want to play the same festival two years in a row. Can't think of another time that's happened.
Why wouldn't they want PJ 2 years in a row?
Because from a promotion stand point it doesn't make sense. Yes there are PJ die-hards who will go two years in a row, but the theme of festivals seems to be "variety," and as far as drawing local Austinites who went last year, having the exact same headliner the very next year, won't do a lot of good.
I AM surprised PJ has never been tapped to do Bumbershoot. That seems like the next logical festival for them to do (obviously not this year).

I had a look at some of the festival message boards today. ACL didn't have a forum I could find, but it does have threads on the Coachella and Lolla boards. It sounds like the speculation is either AC DC or Metallica and Foo Fighters and Florence + The Machine are headliners. No one is mentioning Pearl Jam. It would be extremely rare for a headliner to play two years in a row and the only was I see this is if one of the tentative headliners bailed and Pearl Jam was a replacement.

I see it as a longshot too but interesting nonetheless. As for having a tough time drawing local austinites, that's definitely not true. Most locals here if they go to ACL don't care who is there, they go every year regardless. Most schools in town have half days or are closed those 2 Fridays because most kids don't show up anyway, so the fest has no problem whatsoever selling tickets- that's why they have two identical weekends now when they used to only have one. I really don't think they have any concerns over ticket sales. The fact that they'd headline 2 years in a row though is what makes it a distant possibility.
If this does happen I don't see Pearl Jam playing both weekends again like they did last year. It'll be a one night only jam to fit in with their regular scheduled tour of USA & CDN dates. *fingers crossed

Agreed completely. I just don't see them doing both weekends either, two years in a row. Much more chance that they're just doing one night. Lorde last year just did one night on her way through. Fingers crossed as well.
dont know why they post that..now they remove it and they have the correct dates of SA only the date make some sence..is close to the ny event....as many shows they do.the better

I think they took it down since the lineup hasn't been announced.
Although I'm still doubtful this is happening, it's an odd error to make. If it was a mistake I'd think it would have posted Oct 5 or Oct 12 (the dates they played last year). Guess we find out one way or another on Tuesday.

And I thought I had the will power to sit out for a year !! If this is true however, I might have to just change my mind. It does seem kind of strange, but show rumors are pretty exciting regardless
