I believe this is referencing a Cat Power song entitled 'Good Woman' which is the third song on her album - you are free. Ed provides backing vocals.

    Yes, it's a reference to a jukebox selection. I've asked about this before, hoping that someone had heard somewhere if it was a reference to a particular song on a particular jukebox, but no one could answer... would love to know if it's not just random!

    I take it as a random choice - where the lyric following "let the song protest" is more important to me...symbolizes the willingness of some to just get behind others protesting, yelling, and not necessarily informed, understanding of or even supporting the cause.

    A means to be noticed, lauded, applauded...for anything?

    ^^^ Interesting! Nice catch...... not sure what that's supposed to mean though. This song came years later. So I guess C3 is just his catch all jukebox selection, meaning a song he thinks is rocking??
