Philadelphia 10-22-2013 (night 2) show released with uncompressed video and audio
Hey folks,
New release from BTN and this one is a little different. It's actually the second cut at this particular show. The first one from a year ago was my first attempt at editing so it leaves something to be desired plus it used only Youtube sources
Long story short, several months ago, four different people donated substantial original footage from this night. So we were able to put together a show using 99+% original footage. The 1% extracted from YT is exceptional and does not detract from the show. I was tempted to use more it's so good. However, two of the four original sources are uninterrupted full shows, so that left lots of options.
For those that only watch on youtube, it is an improvement over the original, simply out of better editing and better software. The YT video is over 18gb itself. But if you are able to download the torrent and burn the Blu Rays, that's where you will see the difference.
The show is 40 gb and split into two discs, Main Set and then Encores. Of course we used 24/96 level audio as always. It will be posted on on Kick Ass Torrents (KAT) for the next few weeks but will transition to the BTN Torrents site.
Anyway, enough rambling. Here is the torrent: https://kickass.so/pearl-jam-philly10-22-2013-uncompressed-t10046993.html

There's always a reason to celebrate when you're in Philadelphia!
You know, I really love Philly 2. I was at both and Philly 1 tends to get more love, but I prefer the second night. I love the run of Hail, Hail, Satan's Bed, Untitled/MFC. I mean it's no Yield or No Code straight through like this past fall, but still a great show.

Looking for some advice, constructive help .....
1) once having downloaded the 40 GB torrent, if burning a Blu-Ray disc is not possible since I have no optical drives, what is the recommended way to watch on the TV?
2) How does this quality and file size perform if routed through Apple TV?
3) Is placing the file on an external drive and connecting to a USB port on the TV the best way to view on the TV?
- Thanks again
So I'll give you at least one way to do, I'm not sure if there are others.
What you have are .iso's. They are disc images and can't just be opened per se. But they can be extracted and broken down into a main file. The program I use to do this is PowerISO. There may be a trial version of out there or if you have a little hacker in you, you can grab it from KAT (where you got the show). https://kickass.so/usearch/poweriso/
Once you install PowerISO, you can just right click on the .ISO and tell it to 'extract here' or wherever. That will create a series of files, but there will be one enormous one, and that's the main show.
Now you basically have an .mp4. After that, it comes down to how you connect your computer to your TV. If you run an HDMI from your computer to TV, you're in business. You could also stream if you have DLNA supported TV and a server. You won't have DVD menus or anything like that.
2. I'm not an Apple guy, so I can't really answer this. Sorry. I'm one of those people that don't like Apple. So I don't know a lot about Apple TV. I would hope that it could carry a Blu Ray quality stream. I'm sure it can handle the audio bit depth and rate. If it doesn't, then I can't imagine how people would even have this. So if Apple TV can stream that .mp4 that you created in (1) above, you may be done at this point.
3. You could put the .mp4 on a usb stick, but your TV must have software to play it. That really depends on the TV.
Of course you could watch it the 'lossy' way, which is watching it from YT straight to your TV if your TV is connected to the web. If none of these work for you, let me know or if you have questions.
Thank you very much for the informative, detailed response. I'm kind of new to the world of torrents..... apparently when your laptop goes into sleep mode the torrent stops downloading, so it didn't finish overnight. I'll report back once I've tried your suggestions. Have a great week.
Enjoy the music
I too, would like to get it on my Apple TV if possible, but this will be very hard as I know nothing about everything.
On top of the shows that are released and seeding at the BTN site, we are definitely doing uncompressed Philly1 and St. Louis. Detroit and Hartford are being done, but we don't have enough uncompressed video yet.., but we're getting there. So there will be plenty of shows to stream.
http://1080p-video-tool.blogspot.com/2013/12/play-dvd-through-apple-tv.html
so I opened the iso file on my mac laptop using the disk utility software. I then used the VLC media player to open the BDMV folder. The show will play, but the muted sound comes out from the left side of mac laptop and the right 'speaker' has an odd high pitched screeching sound.
I realize you said you don't work with Macs, but have you heard any feedback similar to what I'm relaying to you?
I did some Internet searching and Youtube watching. I tried a program called macgo blue ray player. There's a free download that comes with a watermark in the middle of the image until you pay for it. Most importantly, when using this program I was able to open the folder and play your great video and sound with none of the screeching that plagued my mac version of VLC.
Many thanks again. Have a great week.
