What (or who) is your grace?

Earlier, I was listening to Kathy's Song - that old Simon & Garfunkel tune.

The last of the lyrics got me (damned if I'm becoming more and more sentimental as I get older; like father, like daughter, I guess)...

"And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I"

Gave my husband - my first and foremost grace - a kiss and silent thanks.

(actually "a" kiss is incorrect - his head was peppered with smooches much like I do with our cats)

And now he - like our cats - is happily napping on this Saturday afternoon.

Grace indeed :-w

    My mom.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

    Love me some S&G.

This really made me think and honestly, I have to say PJ. I was kind of lost before I got into them and the difference the whole PJ experience has made on my life is immeasurable. I've gained life long friends, traveled to places I would never have, and had some of the best times of my life.

PJ totally changed the direction of my life. A saving grace, if you will.

Your last sentence, P&E - yes and yes.

Circumstance, happenstance (who we are :) ), are that sort of grace.

And I also have to include in it, what and who we're born into - parent(s), geography, environment, energy. Blessings?

Not sure how to express it at the moment.

And, the animals and people we randomly meet and come to love. The paths that profoundly and deeply cross because we chose to look (see?) right instead of left.

Was never a big fan of that song, but got into it about this time last year, and am obsessed with it to this day. My mom passed in February, and on the way to the cemetery, under my breath, I was singing "take me for a ride" and said, this is your last ride mom.

    Brings peace to my heart.

I'm so sorry about your mom, and get finding comfort in words - the meaning in them, even if through the weight we place on them.

Man of the Hour kind of brought the same for me, with my dad.

    Oh, music.

    Thanks Hedo,

I can say music in itself is my saving grace. It's amazing how it touches your soul and can completely change your frame of mind. Driving home on a Friday, exhausted from the work week, hear some great music and suddenly you have all the energy in the world.

    It's a beautiful thing.
