So.... I'd like to get higher quality of music than simple MP3... but I always thought I couldn't play FLAC in iTunes...

1 is this true.
2 is FLAC worth it
3 what do I do...

4.... if I switch from Iphone to android I know that I can drag music from itunes to a folder for the phone on my mac but will having flac in itunes screw that up?

    just realized ALAC is the apple version of FLAC... or at least I think it is

    True. Flac and Alac are both lossless.

    Download Trader's Little Helper. It allows you to convert FLAC to wav files or even MP3. It's a breeze to use and it makes sense of downloading FLAC files. You won't lose any quality converting to wav. You know what happens when you go MP3.

    Been using it since '99. Play's every single audio format I throw at it.

    As for video, the choice is VLC media player.

    As for converting Flac to MP3, dBpoweramp Music Converter is my drug. V0, V2, 320. It's pretty awesome!! ;)

    If I decide to get an android, any phone other than the new iPhone, you think the ALAC would still work? Otherwise, I'll just start getting FLACs and using winamp to play them until I make the change.

    I can't remember how much the full version cost but it was the best $x I ever spent.
