Pearl Jam - Eddie Vedder Signed Skateboard Charity Auction
Signed @ Lightning Bolt concert Spokane WA 11/30/2013

    It's on eBay now!

    image

This skateboard was signed by Pearl Jam on November 30, 2013 during the Lightning Bolt tour in Spokane, Washington for the 501(c)(3) non-profit Ferry County Rail Trail Partners. The group is developing a 25 mile long trail in NE Washington State.

Included as part of this auction is an original photo taken by Bob Whittaker and signed by PJ frontman Eddie Vedder. The photo originally appeared in Vedder’s "Ukulele Songs" songbook. This high quality print is 14" x 11" (image is 11” x 9” with a white boarder), printed on archival photo paper. Eddie purchased the ukulele shown in the photo for Ferry County Rail Trail Partners and it was auctioned on eBay.

Also included is the actual "guest list ticket" from the sold out Lightning Bolt concert in Spokane - where the board was signed (and lightly used) by members of the band back stage.

Both items were donated by Bob Whittaker, CEO of Whittaker Outdoors and President of Ferry County Rail Trail Partners. Bob has over thirty years in the music business including stints as manager for Mudhoney, and tour manager for R.E.M., Neko Case and most recently the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The auction is listed by Keith Bell, Vice President of Ferry County Rail Trail Partners. 100% of the proceeds go directly to this all-volunteer federally recognized non-profit organization.

Details on the skateboard from Omen Longboards:

The Omen Sugar. Sweet as can be, this 38-inch-long kick-tailed freeride masterpiece is like nothing you've ever shredded. It is 9.5-inches wide, has 5/8-inch radial concave, and adjustable wheelbase options from 23.5-inches to 26.5-inches.

Our candy-coated dream deck is offered in four flavors: apple green, grape purple, cherry red, and orange... well, orange. The Sugar is packed with features: accelerated rocker, a subtle drop, flush truck mounting, adjustable wheelbase options, flared and routed wheel wells, painted sidewalls, and a big ol' kick-tail.

The Sugar was developed with freeriding in mind, and there is no board like the Sugar for ripping around the city. Need to bust out a quick slide to shave speed? The flared wheel wells, comfy concave, subtle drop, accelerated rocker, and flush truck mounts will make cranking standies a breeze. Need to avoid obstacles? That short wheelbase option makes the Sugar super agile, and don't be afraid to utilize that kicktail homie!

Don't like skating in the city? Live in the boonies? Mount those trucks on a longer wheelbase option and you've got yourself a super responsive downhill deck. The flared wheel wells and subtle drop make for great location features while tucking.

Thank you very much for bidding and supporting the Ferry County Rail Trail.

    Pearl Jam Helps Fund Rail-Trail

Republic, Washington. Trail advocates in rural Northeastern Washington have announced the auction of a skateboard signed by the members of the rock group Pearl Jam. Funds generated will be used to enhance the surface of a 25 mile rail-trail that connects four towns, two school complexes and meanders along miles of pristine waterfront.
Over the years the Ferry County Rail Trail Partners (FCRTP) have done well competing for state and federal development funds but Bob Whittaker, President of the non-profit group, says the project needs more. “We have 25 miles of donated property, much of it waterfront, along the Kettle river. We have a 770’ trestle over Curlew Lake that was decked with $200,000 in bicycle/pedestrian safety funds. However, we need surface improvements and we need them yesterday.” Whittaker went on to say “An improved surface means more users, a healthier community, and happy, repeat visitors to the region.”
The 'longboard' style skate was signed by all the members of the band back stage before their sold out concert at the Spokane Arena last November. Whittaker made the trip to the show with FCRTP Vice President Keith Bell. “It was a fun night- and all for a good cause. Ferry County even got a shout out from Eddie while on stage. How sweet is that?!”, said Keith Bell.

Included as part of this auction is an original photo taken by Bob Whittaker and signed by PJ frontman Eddie Vedder. The photo of Vedder on a canoe originally appeared in Vedder’s "Ukulele Songs" songbook.

Both items were donated by Bob Whittaker, CEO of Whittaker Outdoors and President of Ferry County Rail Trail Partners.

The auction is listed by Keith Bell, Vice President of Ferry County Rail Trail Partners. 100% of the proceeds go directly to our all-volunteer federally recognized non-profit organization.

The auction goes live August 24 and can be found by visiting this link to Ebay.

Pearl Jam skateboard nets $4,450 for Ferry County trail By Rich Landers.

TRAILS — Somebody made out like a bandit in an auction benefitting the Ferry County Rail Trail.

Eddie Vedder and the rock group Pearl Jam band members supported the 25-mile Ferry County Rail Trail in northeastern Washington by signing and donating a cool skateboard to an online auction that ended Sunday night on eBay.

The winner out of 47 took the prize possession for $4,450.

But every little bit counts. Funds generated will be used to enhance the surface of the abandoned railway that connects four towns, two school complexes and meanders along miles of pristine waterfront, including Curlew Lake and the Kettle River.

The photos posted here show Vedder with the longboard and one of the major projects on the trail to reconstruct the trestle over the north end of Curlew Lake.

“Over the years, the Ferry County Rail Trail Partners have done well competing for state and federal development funds,” said Bob Whittaker, president of the non-profit group, which is seeking more funding.

“We have 25 miles of donated property, much of it waterfront, along the Kettle river,” he said. “We have a 770-foot trestle over Curlew Lake that was decked with $200,000 in bicycle/pedestrian safety funds, but we need surface improvements and we need them yesterday.
