    That's way too much

I would suggest doing some pricing research before asking that.

A fair pice is allowed - meaning no one expects you to sell it for $20, but overcharging like that is a no no.

    Good luck!

Maybe the record is actually Columbia blue. Then it might be worth 5 grand.

But if it's royal blue? Nah.

You should sell raffle tickets 10 bucks a pop and raffle it off when you hit your price but maybe come down a bit 5000 is steep

For those interested price is based on extreme rarity of item. Also based on what other pj vinyl goes for, and original purchase price. If Benny which was only 30 bucks and there are 2000 copies of that out there, then this is not far out of reach. Just not everyone can afford it. And to the people who really care I have not sold one piece of memorabilia, nor do I want to part with this but I have no choice at this point.

While this is no doubt a very rare album, possibly the rarest PJ album, $5,000 is extremely high. Like serialthrilla says, there is one that has been on eBay for over a month with a $2200 buy it now tag. I contemplated paying $1500 for one last year but just couldn't justify it and that was actually reasonable for that record. If you are really serious about selling, I would lower the price. Just my opinion. Good luck

I don't get this love affair with colored vinyl. At least a poster is different from other posters. There are thousands and thousands of Vs. vinyl out there and they happened to make one blue for those in Colombia.

No need to justify yourself OP. It's nobody's place but yours to judge if something is too steep of a price. At the end of the day you will either sell it for an agreed price to someone or just keep it. Either way good luck.

This is the Picasso of Pearl Jam vinyl.

I know lftdaporch well. We go back to lossless trading's heyday. He's great people and you likely won't see another one of these from as reputable a source in quite some time. (That is to say you will most certainly be getting the real deal here.)

Is it expensive? Sure, but what use is there complaining about it if it's something you likely wouldn't buy at even half the asking price?

Comparing Benaroya Hall to this is a poor decision. At one point, Benaroya Hall could be had quite easily. That was never the case with the Columbia Blue.

I know I could never buy it, and if I had that cash - i'd probably be putting it into my Porsche fund (I'm on the ten-year plan). :D
Still, the bashing reeks to me of people jealous he is lucky enough to have it.

I've just comes to accept that people love to bash if they can't get something. I won't spend the money on this but tons of others will considering how rare it is. I can put a thread up for an ISO Benny and get one in less than a day by tossing out $800 or so...the same can't be said for this piece. The only question is....I hope you live somewhere where the snow isn't an issue with that Porsche

I know we all collect stuff but colored vinyl seems like the stupidest thing to pay a lot of money for. Collecting something just for the fact that it is rare rather than something of actual value or creativity. At some point you have to grow up, but there are enough people who haven't so these things keep their value.

No offense but who is one person to say that something isn't worth collecting by another?

It is a message board. We can give our opinions. I don't think people are going to lose their minds over what I say. It will be quickly forgotten. Sorry if I offend anyone. I think collecting is addictive (me - guilty) and sometimes you need to step back and think about what you are doing.

I just picture kids on a playground playing with marbles (probably back in the 1960's) and one shouting for the blue marble and one wants the green marble. Flash forward 50 years and we have grown adults saying: "I know the black vinyl plays and sounds the same, but I really want the blue one."

I just don't see the draw of the colored vinyl. Plenty of other cool things to collect in my opinion. Paying $2,000 for a vinyl because it is blue? No, it is because it is rare.
  • Options
    It's not that it's blue.
If the Colombian vinyl standard black was this rare. Then that would be worth the same.
But the standard black is not rare. The blue is.

Now go find me a Dutch black vinyl daughter 7". And I will give you ten red daughter vinyls for it.

It's got sod all to do with colour of wax. It's about collecting all pearl jam releases
