rumors. Rumors! RUMORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sick of hearing all this Pearl Jam is going to play here, pearl jam is going to do this, that, blah blah blah.
Can we please just stop already, it is really getting annoying! So we are pretty sure they are going to play Austin City Limits... Yeah, whatever, how many people have their plane tickets and hotels ready to go for that show? NONE! It isn't important until it is confirmed... What ever happened to that MSG show that was guaranteed to happen?
I love it how a few people come on here and post about a possible show at least 20 different times a year, all different places, then when one of those shows happen they say "See, I told you, I knew it was going to happen"
Well, what about the other 19 shows you promised that NEVER HAPPENED!
I am ranting, but really, it is quite annoying...
Can we report/flag rumors and get those threads locked/deleted?

    I agree, its that whole I told you so self gratification. People want feel they are more informed than the rest of us.This board has a shitload of lameness going on lately.People need hobbies. Its like watching grass grow. People drive themselves crazy with the day to day I heard this/that bullshit. Give it a rest, let things play out naturally, only setting yourselves up for disapointment

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    yea but some rumors come true, how about the Bonnaroo rumor that started a long time ago, I agree though Mitch I get sick of hearing all these rumors, unless they actually met someone in the band and have a pic taken I don't buy it, you gonna do roo? I talked to Eli and he's down for it!

    He is right. The Message Pit is becoming a piece of crap. We all love PJ; let's stick to that and talk about the music and the shows (the actual ones that happen after they happen). Let's quit speculating and posting about ridiculous notions all day. There are obviously a lot of posters that do not have real jobs or lifes based on how many times and what they post.

    Rumors are certainly difficult to deal with but they serve a purpose. Inevitably there are people who know more than you and I about what is going on and while plans do change people do know things. This helps in a sense because it keeps us hanging around the site and when real news drops we get it and usually we have already had a chance to consider what we think/do related to if the rumor is true. For example, I live in Austin so there is a good chance I will know something about Austin City Limits before someone in Boston. Not guaranteed but highly possible. The rumors get us thinking about the possibility. Unfortunately, not all rumors are true and some are true but fall apart at the last minute and we never know why. So let them go and be aware of the fact that most rumors end up being just that but when they are not, then we are in the know in advance and have better time to react. I have already made my plans in relation to Austin City Limits--which I would not have begun asking questions had the rumor not showed up here.

    I miss the rumor killers threads, so entertaining, i keep thinking ill log on and see one, but alas i keep getting let down. So I read the rumored tour dates instead :)
