Beating Cancer (PJ and Wrigley Related)

I just want to scream - HELLO!

A year and a half ago, my wife and I were about to hit the road and see PJ in Toronto for two shows. Instead, I ended up in the hospital for two weeks. I found out I had a brain tumor.

During that time, I came here, The Porch, for support - and I got some!
http://community.pearljam.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=169766

Anyway, I just wanted to send out an update: one year from the end of my radiation and chemo, I'm now cancer free!

An Ohio newspaper did a story on me and my wife, and it is filled with PJ references:
http://www.vindy.com/news/2013/jan/27/wife-anchors-tv-hosts-lengthy-recovery/?newswatch

Unfortunately, I'm NOT going to Ontario - but I'll be at Wrigley Field! Thanks again for all your support, especially Haydenism!

Keep on rockin...
Bill

UPDATE: Wow - worth the wait! Wrigley Field was an experience! I met so many great people, and the show was amazing - even with the 2.5 hour rain delay and the poster debacle. Congrats to the Wishlist folks like ComeToThePorch (Joe) for a successful event too! And I got Chloe Dancer! PJ fans are the best. (I was the short Italian guy from Cleveland who has "word finding" issues.) As Eddie mentioned during the show, this band has created a community of amazing people.

    Awesome!
    Brain Cancer is tricky stuff.
It's strange how most people treat others that have cancer like they are going to die.

My brother pulled through 5 years ago. He only said that he was scared and he questioned his immortality, and overall level of Happiness. (He has Asperger's Syndrome)
So he got married and has a daughter. I still call him rain man.

    If you don't mind OP...
What treatment center or Hospital did you use? Pm me

For the best Cancer STORY I ever read...
    I recommend
    ISBN # 978-1-4000-5218-9

    "Extraordinary", said The New Yorker.

Great story and many blessings as you continue to live cancer free! My wife was diagnosed with melanoma back in November 2012. After 6 of the most stressful weeks of our lives and an operation in December to remove the cancer from her arm and a lymph node test, the results were: tissue around removal clear and free/lymph node negative.

Before allowing myself to be released, I immediately said a prayer for those who have not or may not receive this kind of news. It is amazing how our perception of life can be changed so suddenly. And a side note-it is also amazing how my interpretation of many of Pearl Jam's songs have changed based on my new experiences in life-mainly my wife's situation. Its Evolution Baby!!! Positive vibes to all!!!!! See ya at Wrigley!!!!!!!!

If you are really bored waiting for the new single, I figured I would share this story done by my former TV station. They didn't play up the PJ angle enough, I think!

Congratulations, that is excellent news! You must be so relieved to have finished your treatment.

My mum is recovering from cancer treatment at the moment. The radiotherapy part of the treatment was horrendous for her, I had no idea that it was going to be so bad.

I want to share my little brother had Melanoma. We took care of it. It has been over 5 years. 2 weeks ago, he finally told me that he had been worried about this new spot.

We found out yesterday that the biopsy results showed it is benign. :D

    good vibes!
